In the Tianluokeng Scenic Area of Shuyang Town, Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, there is an ancient village with a long history - Taxia Village. Founded in 1426 and nestled between the mountains, the village now has more than 400 families built along the stream, which runs through the village in an "S" shape. The tulou in the village is square and round, and the two round tulou are located on both sides of the winding stream, combined with the shape of the stream to have the meaning of Taiji, so Taxia Village is also called "Taiji Water Town".
Taxia Village is a traditional Hakka ancient village, surrounded by mountains and water, fields can be cultivated, mountains can be constructed, water can be fished, the air is fresh, the temperature is comfortable, and there is a feeling of paradise. Taxia Village is also dotted with tulou buildings, and it is only about 20 minutes' drive from the two famous scenic spots of Tianluokeng and Yunshuiyu, but the most famous buildings in the village are not tulou, but Deyuan Hall and Shilong flagpole.
Stone dragon flagpole, in the half-moon-shaped pond in front of Zhang's family temple, 24 stone dragon flagpoles stand around the pond, of which 14 stand in the 37th year of Qianlong to 30 years of Guangxu, the latest one stands in 2012, which is also the most preserved and most intact stone dragon flagpole group in China. If the children of the family are admitted to the imperial examination or jinshi, they will set up such a flagpole to show the prominence of the family and also represent the glory of the village. Taxia Village has successively produced 14 lifters and jinshi. The top of the flagpole is like a pen, and the little lion is a military attaché, which is very distinctive.
As the Deyuan Hall of Zhang's family temple in Taxia Village, it is built in the highest place in the village, and the main building has three rooms in two entrances, and the roof ridge is inlaid with colored porcelain. It is said that the Zhang family came here 500 years ago, at first lived in the mountain, and later because of the grace of Zhang's grandmother to the masters, the opportunity to settle down the mountain under the guidance of the masters, so all the people in Taxia Village today are the descendants of the Zhang clan. As a Hakka table, Deyuantang records the footprints of the Zhang family in this place.
There are many inns and restaurants in the village under the tower, and you can rest and look at the dense green of the distant mountains when you are tired of shopping. When it was time to eat, the smoke rising from the layers of staggered old houses was very **.
