A bridge in Nansha, Guangzhou, was hit by a boat, 2 people died, and 3 people went missing. A vehicle has been found at the scene, and the rescue is in progress.
The Guangzhou Maritime Search and Rescue Center reported that as of 10 a.m. on February 22, after a preliminary investigation, there were 4 vehicles involved in the Nansha ship collision accident and 1 electric motorcycle, of which 2 vehicles fell into the water and the other 3 fell onto the boat. So far, 2 people have been rescued, 2 people have died, 1 crew member has been slightly injured, and 3 people are missing. The cause of the accident is being investigated, and rescue work is being carried out in an orderly manner.
At around 5:30 a.m. on February 22, a container ship was on its way from Nanhai in Foshan to Nansha in Guangzhou with no load, and touched the pier of the Lixinsha Bridge while sailing through the Hongqi Lishui Road, causing the bridge deck of the Lixinsha Bridge to break.
After receiving the danger report, the South China Sea Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Transport immediately activated the emergency plan and organized 25 rescuers and professional rescue equipment from the Guangzhou rescue base and Shenzhen rescue base to go to the scene for rescue.
As of 10 o'clock on the 22nd, the South China Sea Rescue Bureau has successively dispatched 16 emergency rescue team members from three batches of Guangzhou rescue bases, with 2 emergency rescue vehicles and 1 rescue command vehicle to the scene, carrying professional diving equipment and professional underwater search equipment, in addition, it also sent a high-speed rescue boat "Nanhai Rescue 321" and 9 emergency rescue team members from the Shenzhen rescue base to the scene for reinforcements. At present, the rescue operation is still ongoing.
