Egypt's health minister, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, revealed that a Turkish-Egyptian hospital will be built in the new administrative capital east of Cairo.
On Friday (16 February), Jaafar said: "Egypt's Abdel Fattah el-Sisi will visit Ankara in April, when the hospital construction agreement and other agreements will be signed. We look forward to important cooperation in various areas, particularly in the area of health, in the coming period, so that we can expand our cooperation and maximize the benefits of the capabilities of the two largest countries in the region. ”
Jaafar also said that Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan's historic visit to Egypt sends an important message to the region and the world that the strong relationship between Egypt and Turkey returns to its historical roots for thousands of years.
The Minister of Health was the head of the honorary delegation that received Erdogan** and his delegation this week.
Collaboration in the field of healthcare
Jaafar noted that since Israel's war against Gaza in Palestine in October, Turkey and Egypt have launched health cooperation. Since then, they have coordinated with the Turkish Embassy in Egypt and worked through ongoing cooperation and meetings with the Turkish Minister of Health, Fakhretin Koka.
"Cooperation and exchanges have not stopped every day, including holding meetings, hosting delegations from the Turkish Emergency and Rescue Management Authority, international assistance from the Turkish Red Crescent Society, and a team of doctors and experts to review the cases in Egypt (of the wounded Palestinians) and send many of the cases to Turkey," Jaafar said. ”
"Today, we are witnessing the Egyptian-Turkish conference on organ transplantation, making it an important research, scientific and ** collaboration for the benefit of the people of Turkey and Egypt," he added. ”
Earlier on Friday, Egypt's health ministry said in a statement that Jaafar had received a delegation from the Turkish Organ Transplant Association to discuss ways to collaborate and exchange experiences in the field.
The Minister proposed the establishment of an Egyptian Organ Transplant Society similar to the Turkish model.
