Recently, the "Jilin No. 1" platform 02A01 satellite and platform 02A02 satellite carried out China's first inter-satellite laser 100 gigabits per second ultra-high-speed high-resolution remote sensing image transmission test and was successful, and the technology reached the international advanced level. Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. said that the "Jilin No. 1" constellation is the company's core project under construction, and has successfully achieved the phased goal of "100 stars flying into the sky".

With the continuous improvement of the temporal and spatial resolution of the constellation, how to further improve the timeliness of data return has become a common problem faced by the constellation of large remote sensing satellites. In line with the design principle of "simple and reliable" and the design concept of "integration of satellite and laser terminal", the R&D team of Changguang Satellite independently developed a high-bandwidth, multi-mode and high-precision inter-satellite laser communication terminal based on commercial applications, and steadily promoted the verification of key technologies of inter-satellite laser communication.

The inter-satellite laser communication terminal used in this test supports a variety of communication modes such as co-orbit inter-satellite communication, inter-satellite communication in different orbits and satellite-to-ground communication, and has two modes of data transmission, incoherent system and coherent system, with the highest support rate of 10 gigabits per second and 100 gigabits per second respectively. The R&D team has overcome key technologies such as high-coupling efficiency multi-optical axis consistent assembly, high-precision capture and tracking control, and high-bandwidth coherent communication.

As of January 10, 2024, Changguang Satellite has successively completed the inter-satellite high-speed laser communication test at 10 gigabits per second and 100 gigabits per second, with a communication bit error rate of 0 during stable link construction, and successfully transmitted the high-resolution remote sensing images transmitted between the satellites, marking the first time that China has realized the transmission of ultra-high-speed high-resolution remote sensing images of inter-satellite laser at 100 gigabits per second, which is of great significance for the rapid return of remote sensing data and real-time monitoring in orbit. The space high-speed laser data transmission network test of remote sensing satellite can also provide important technical support for the large-scale networking construction of Internet satellite constellation.

In the early stage, the "Jilin-1" MF02A04 satellite has successfully completed the two-way link construction of the satellite-ground through the vehicle-mounted laser communication ground station, with a communication rate of 10 gigabits per second. The success of this experiment marks that the satellite-to-ground and inter-satellite laser high-speed communication technology has been realized, and the space high-speed laser data transmission network test system has been established, which provides a solid technical foundation for the construction of a space-based and ground-based integrated laser communication transmission network, and provides technical support for the real-time downward transmission of massive image data of ultra-high-resolution remote sensing constellations, helping remote sensing information to better serve public users.
