The seemingly mixed security team has always had a heroic dream of supporting justice, planning to intercept the impending bank robbery. What they didn't expect was that this path of justice would be so dangerous ......From February 2nd to 4th, "Happy New Year", created by Shanghai Happy Twist and adapted from the play "Happy New Year" by the famous writer Xu Yigua, will premiere at the Shanghai Grand Theatre.
In the play of Happy Twist, the market life of the little people is an important entry point. Whether it is film and television works such as "Charlotte's Troubles", or stage plays such as "The Earl of Oolong Mountain", people can see the true hearts and shining points of the little people. The story of "Happy New Year" also focuses on the little people: a craft factory in the 90s has such a civilian security team - the lame young factory director Cheng Jihan, the driver Bobcat who is more like a police officer than a policeman, the silent teenager Bian Buliang who is unidentified, and the brave twin brothers Zheng Fu and Zheng Gui, who are surging for the ideal of justice in their hearts, planning to stop a bank robbery. As the plot reaches its climax and the situation becomes more and more dangerous, they will also face challenges from ideals and reality.
In order to fit the main plot line, the main creative team is committed to creating a lo-fi (lo-fi) aesthetic style, coupled with the imaginative live choreography of the actors, so that the whole dreamy to distorted atypical hero story is full of atmosphere. When the plot enters the small climax of the bus anti-pickpocketing plot, with the change of stage lights and the turn of the front of the car, more than a dozen actors only rely on their standing positions and body movements to restore a thrilling bus turmoil: braking, turning, body search, counterattack ......The anxiety and fierceness of the scene touched the hearts of every audience, and many viewers were infected by this ideal and passion full of a sense of age.
Director Ma Junfeng, who has directed plays such as the stage play "Flowers" and the Kunqu opera "Six Tales of Floating Life", believes that the portrayal of idealism in the play is the key to touching him. Although this is a story full of a sense of time, it still has something in common with the present - an era full of upward possibilities, and a youthful spirit that is persistent in dreaming. The main creative team hopes to resonate with contemporary young people through plot setting and emotional transmission, and easily convey the power of excitement in a crazy and playful way. As the creator said, it "speaks to all those who still love life and still have dreams and work hard for it." ”
As a year-end Chinese New Year drama of Happy Twist, "Happy New Year" has assembled a group of ace lineups. There are not only Wang Haigang, the producer of the Shanghai version of classic works such as "Charlotte's Troubles", "The Earl of Oolong Mountain" and "The Thief Wants to Get You", but also Zhu Yi, a screenwriter who has created excellent dramas such as "Eternal Life", and Tan Hua, a national stage and lighting designer of the dance drama "Dream of Red Mansions", ......What is surprising is that this is also the return debut of the "** drama leader" Liu Lingfei on the drama stage after many years. The original author of the play, Su Yigua, is the original author of the movie "Scorching Sun". After exquisite script adaptation and polishing, through stage design and actor interpretation, the main creative team finally dared to put the crime record of the small-town youth punishing evil and promoting goodness and bank robbery speeding car on the stage.
It is worth mentioning that "Happy New Year" invited the well-known rock band "Gojo Ren" in Chinese mainland to be the soundtrack of the play, which is also the first time that Gojo has scored a stage play. From the simple melody that starts and ends to the soul BGM that reaches the finale, the audience can feel the dreamy retro melody from Gojo people. The main creative team said frankly that the ** style of the five people is highly consistent with the stage aesthetics, which has both retro and hallucinogenic magic and exciting passion. In the interpretation of Gojo people, the unique human fireworks in the south and the delicate emotions of the young protagonists slowly unfold, and as the plot moves towards the climax, the audience gradually falls into the comfortable visual relaxation and fast-paced sound wave carnival, and truly integrates into the story.
