The Yangtze River Delta is one of the regions with the most active economic development, the highest degree of openness and the strongest innovation ability in China. Since 2018, the proportion of GDP in the Yangtze River Delta has always remained at about 24%, showing a steady development trend. With 4% of the country's land area, the three provinces and one municipality have created nearly a quarter of the country's total economic output.
According to the latest statistics, Shanghai's GDP will reach 472 trillion yuan, Jiangsu's GDP reached 1282 trillion yuan, Zhejiang's GDP reached 826 trillion yuan, Anhui's GDP reached 471 trillion yuan, and the total regional economy exceeded 30 trillion yuan.
In 2023, 58 major industrial projects of more than 1 billion yuan will start construction in Shanghai, and the C919 domestic large passenger aircraft and the first domestic large cruise ship will achieve commercial operation; The high-quality development index of Jiangsu's manufacturing industry reached 919, ranking first in the country; The added value of manufacturing, the core industry of Zhejiang's digital economy, increased by 8 percent year-on-year3%；The output of new energy vehicles in Anhui Province is 8680,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 605%。

As proposed by Shanghai, in 2024, it will accelerate the construction of the G60 science and technology innovation corridor, along the Shanghai-Nanjing industrial innovation belt, and work together to build a regional development community in the Yangtze River Delta; Jiangsu proposes to plan and build the Yangtze River Estuary Industrial Innovation Collaborative Zone to promote the integrated development of coastal ports and Shanghai International Shipping Center hubs; Zhejiang Province proposed to speed up the construction of the Yangtze River Delta air cargo hub, the Yangtze River Delta China-Europe train assembly center, Tongsu-Jiayong railway and other projects. Anhui Province proposed to strengthen the joint protection and governance of the ecological environment and start the construction of the Yangtze River Delta (Anhui) ecological green health care base.
