The 30th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced this Wednesday, with nominations for "Oppenheimer," "Barbie" and "America**," while the Best Actor nomination went to Leonardo DiCaprio.

At the Golden Globe Awards, Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" and Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" were nominated again. Each film received four nominations, including Best Ensemble. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling were nominated for their performances in Barbie, while Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., and Emily Blunt were nominated for Oppenheimer.

Babenheimer continues to dominate Hollywood's awards season as much as it dominates the summer box office.

Cord Jefferson's American Fiction received the biggest boost, earning three nominations: Best Actor, Jeffrey Wright's Best Actor and Sterling K. BrownBrown) for Best Supporting Actor.

In addition to the three films, Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" and Blitz Bazawule's "The Purple" were also nominated for Best Group, the union's top award.

Most notably, the one left out was "Poor Things" by Yorgos Lanthimos, which won Best Comedy at Sunday's Golden Globes. Lead actor Emma Stone was nominated for Best Actress, and Willem Dafoe (except Mark Ruffalo) was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

But the nominations announced on Instagram Live by Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani, co-stars of "Barbie" and "America**," were far more than that.

The nominees for Best Actor were Bradley Cooper (The Master), Coleman Domingo (Rustin), Paul Giammati (Friends), Murphy and Wright. Due to his stellar performance in Martin Scorsese's Killer of the Flower Moon, DiCaprio has been considered a favorite for the nomination. Lily Gladstone, who is expected to make history at the Oscars, was nominated for Best Actress and Robert De Niro was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Todd Hayne's May December and Celine Song's tender love story Past Lives were completely shut out. "May December" co-star Charles Melton is expected to be one of the supporting actors. Sandra Hller ("Anatomy of the Fall") and Fantasia Barrino ("The Color Purple") did not receive individual nominations.

In addition to Gladstone and Stone, the Best Actress nominees include Kelly Mulligan ("The Master") and Annette Bening ("Nayard"). Jodie Foster, who co-starred with Benin, won Best Supporting Actress, along with Joey Randolph for "Love Love", Danielle Brooks for "The Color Purple" and Pensalop Cruz for "Ferrari" as well as Best Supporting Actress.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards are closely watched as a bellwether for the Oscars. Their choices don't always coincide exactly with those of the film school, but few winners of Best Picture or Best Performance are not first nominated by SAG. This means that the hopes of a film like Poor Thing for Best Picture have been hit. Celine Song's tender love story "Past Lives" has also suffered setbacks.

The last two Best Performance winners – "Everything Everywhere" and "The End" – both won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

This year's Screen Actors Guild Awards come after an uphill 118-day strike by the Screen Actors Guild of America – Aftra that plunged Hollywood into a months-long battle for the future. Payments and artificial intelligence in the era of streaming are the most important issues.

In the television category, the three films that almost swept the Golden Globes – "Bear" and "Beef" – are once again the leading nominees. * leads all nominations with five (although Jeremy Strong missed), while The Last of Us, Ted Lasso and The Bear all received four.

The Screen Actors Guild Awards will be held on February 24 at the Shine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. For the first time, Netflix will broadcast the awards ceremony live. Last year's awards ceremony was streamed live on Netflix's YouTube account.

The show will be one of Netflix's most high-profile attempts at live programming. The streamer, who has been a staple of the awards season for many years, will also be the first to host the Academy Awards in March.

Barbra Streisand will receive the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.
