Israel's largest airline, El Al, announced on Tuesday that it is giving free air tickets to Europe to IDF soldiers involved in the war against Hamas.

As an airline that participated in the defense of the country at the beginning of the war, we believe that we have an obligation to give back to those who contributed to the country and its defense during this period.

Israel Air said IDF soldiers are eligible for free tickets if they have served 30 days or more since the war on October 7 and are current members of or join a frequent flyer club. Registration for the Free Flight Voucher** is valid until February 26 or the end of inventory and can be redeemed until February 29 for flights departing from Israel between May 5, 2024 and February 17, 2025. Destinations to choose from include: Vienna, Austria; Thessaloniki or Athens, Greece; Sofia, Bulgaria; Paphos or Larnaca, Cyprus; Budapest, Hungary; Bucharest, Romania; or Zurich, Switzerland.

Headquartered at Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Airport, EL AL is currently equipped with Boeing wide-body airliners powered by Rolls-Royce Trent engines.
