Los Angeles, 5 Feb (Xinhua) -- The art troupe of the High School Affiliated to the Chinese National University (hereinafter referred to as the High School Affiliated to the National People's Congress) visited Los Angeles on 5 February to perform a "Happy Spring Festival" performance in a local school and interact with teachers and students in the United States.
On the same day, the art troupe of the High School Affiliated to the National People's Congress, composed of more than 80 people, came to the Los Angeles International Research and Study Center and performed dance, martial arts, string quartet, aerobics and other programs, which were warmly welcomed by the teachers and students of the school.
Guo Shaochun, Chinese Consul General in Los Angeles, said in his speech at the event that the "future of China-US relations lies in the youth." We welcome more American young people to visit, study and exchange in China to understand the real China, real Chinese stories and true feelings of the Chinese people, and also look forward to more Chinese young people having the opportunity to visit the United States, so that more Chinese and American young people can get to know each other and walk hand in hand, become a new generation of envoys of friendship between the two countries, inject impetus into the development of Sino-US relations, and benefit the people of the two countries.
Cynthia Gaspora, a teacher at the Los Angeles Center for International Studies and Studies, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that the Chinese-style program carefully rehearsed by Chinese students was impressive, showing the charm of Chinese tradition and culture. She said that the more young people in the United States and China learn and experience each other's cultures will help deepen understanding and enhance exchanges, cooperation, and friendship between the United States and China.
Founded in 2005, the Los Angeles International Studies Study Center is a local public high school that offers a variety of foreign language courses such as Chinese and Spanish.
The Art Troupe of the High School Affiliated to the National People's Congress visited the United States from February 3 to 14, and Los Angeles was the first stop of the art troupe's trip to the United States. The troupe will also visit Minneapolis, Muscatine, Chicago and other cities.
