On January 17, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) solicited public comments on the "Guidelines for the Construction of a Comprehensive Standardization System for the National Artificial Intelligence Industry" (draft for comments). The draft proposes that by 2026, more than 60% of common key technologies and application development projects will form standard achievements, and the linkage level between standards and industrial scientific and technological innovation will continue to improve. More than 50 national standards and industry standards have been newly formulated, and the formation of a standard system for the high-quality development of the artificial intelligence industry has been accelerated.

In recent years, with the emergence of artificial intelligence large model technology, all walks of life in China have entered the market, and the digital office industry is one of them. In the context of the new round of development boom in the artificial intelligence industry, which artificial intelligence products have been applied? What development opportunities will it bring to the industry?

Artificial intelligence reshapes the workplace

Thanks to the performance of generative artificial intelligence (AIGC) in creating text, artificial intelligence is reshaping the office model, helping users improve innovation and productivity, and the collaborative office market is gradually expanding.

According to the "Analysis Report on China's AI Large Model Innovation and Patent Technology" released in November 2023, the software industry, manufacturing industry and service industry are the industries with more patent layouts of China's large model innovation entities, with the number of patent layouts being 360,000 pieces, 340,000 pieces, 280,000 pieces. , Tencent, Alibaba and other enterprises have further promoted the development of patent industrialization, and have more patent layouts in the software industry, manufacturing industry and other industries.

In the field of software, artificial intelligence large models are gradually applied to natural language processing, computer vision, speech recognition and other fields, and the intelligence level of related software products has been improved.

Take Kingsoft Office, a veteran office software company in China, as an example. In April 2023, WPS AI will be unveiled to the public, and will be successively applied to common office components such as text and presentations. In November 2023, the WPS AI public beta was released and officially available to users.

Similar to WPS AI, in collaborative office scenarios, tools such as Tencent Docs Intelligent Assistant and iFLYTEK Xinghuo Cognitive Model connect the office needs of multiple scenarios and bring a more imaginative experience to the office environment. Industry analysts pointed out that nowadays, collaborative office software has long been not limited to remote communication, meetings, communication traces and other functions that open up the real and digital space, with the deep embedding of artificial intelligence, the algorithm can intelligently identify and recommend the digital assets precipitated in the office scene, and improve the efficiency of collaboration.

Promote the transformation and innovation of hardware products

The development of artificial intelligence models has promoted the innovation and transformation of hardware products, which has become a new business opportunity. In addition to the wide implementation of hardware products in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, smart home, and unmanned driving, a series of new smart products have also begun to enter the lives of consumers, realizing from "concept" to "application".

Three months ago, a technology company in the United States released a new artificial intelligence hardware product. This screenless smart device can be worn on clothes magnetically, relying on voice and gestures to complete interactions, enabling calls, photos, translations and other functions.

At this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Lenovo unveiled more than 40 new AI-based devices and solutions, including PCs equipped with generative AI software. Users only need to enter some text content when using it, and the corresponding visual image can be quickly generated. Zhang Hua, vice president of Lenovo Group and general manager of China's consumer business group, said that artificial intelligence computers will realize multi-modal natural language interaction and improve the machine's ability to understand user intentions, which can bring users a different experience in multiple scenarios such as work, study, and life.

Focus on technical risks

In the view of Zhang Qingyuan, CEO of Kingsoft Office, in the past year, the development of domestic AI models has been very mature, and a number of representative products have been launched, and more enterprises will apply artificial intelligence models to actual work scenarios this year. At the same time, in specific applications, it is still necessary to pay attention to the infrastructure, scenario application and security guarantee of artificial intelligence.

The rapid development of generative AI has brought challenges to information content governance, and more people have begun to pay attention to the possible technical risks in intelligent ethics, intellectual property protection, privacy and personal data protection.

On August 15, 2023, the Interim Measures for the Administration of Generative AI Services (hereinafter referred to as the "Interim Measures") issued by the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and various ministries and commissions will come into effect. It is clear that "the innovative application of generative AI technology in various industries and fields is encouraged, high-quality content that is positive, healthy, and upward for good, and application scenarios are explored and optimized, and an application ecosystem is built." At the same time, the Interim Measures also point out that "where intellectual property rights are involved, the intellectual property rights enjoyed by others in accordance with the law shall not be infringed; Where personal information is involved, the individual's consent shall be obtained or other circumstances provided for by laws and administrative regulations shall be complied with. ”

Gu Bingzhong, vice chairman of the China Computer Users Association, believes that in the training process of large models, it is necessary to pay attention to the protection of rights, and obvious copyright infringement should be stopped in time. For example, the meteorological model trained by using the data of the Meteorological Bureau should be authorized by the right holder to standardize the use of data from the source.

In the initial stage of generative AI, there can be more tolerance and time for copyright to be verified, and it is necessary to follow up in a timely manner and further study the problems that may be raised, but not to rush to conclusions. With the progress of technology and the times, many traditional concepts will change, and copyright may also be the same. Gu Bingzhong said.
