February**Dynamic Incentive Program Foreigners who come to work in China need to apply for a work visa, which is often referred to as a "Z" visa. Here's a brief overview of the process:
Invitations are obtained
Foreigners first need to obtain an invitation letter issued by an enterprise, institution or individual in China.
Submissions
Foreigners with invitation letters can submit visa applications to Chinese embassies and consulates abroad.
The documents to be submitted usually include a valid passport, a completed visa application form, a recent photographed passport**, a health certificate, a police clearance certificate, an invitation letter, and other supporting documents.
Visa approval
The Embassy or Consulate will review the application materials. If the materials are complete and meet the requirements, the approval will usually be completed within a few working days.
Pick up your visa
Once the visa is approved, the applicant can return to the embassy or consulate to collect the passport with the visa affixed to it.
Entering China
Foreigners with a Z visa can enter China within the validity period of the visa.
Apply for a residence permit
After entering the country, foreigners need to apply for a residence permit with the local public security organ within 30 days. A residence permit will allow foreigners to legally reside and work within China.
Health checks and registrations
Some cities may require foreigners to undergo a health check after obtaining a residence permit and register with the local public security authority.
Please note that the specific application requirements and procedures are subject to change, and it is recommended to check with the nearest PRC embassy or consulate or official channels for the most up-to-date information before applying. At the same time, China** may adjust its entry policies to meet the needs of epidemic prevention and control, so be sure to keep an eye out for the latest travel and health safety guidelines.
