The latest trailer for "Deadpool and Wolverine" confirms that in addition to Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, Deadpool played by Ryan Reynolds will have many familiar characters returning in the next adventure movie; However, some of the former main characters will be absent. The following characters will not appear in Deadpool vs. Wolverine:
Wire - Josh Brolin
Recently accepted comicbookcom In an interview about Dune 2, Josh Brolin admitted that he may be absent from Deadpool 3 and no longer play the time traveler Cable.
The last time viewers saw this character, he had just saved Deadpool's life. Soon after, Wade Wilson stole his time travel device.
It's hard to imagine that the cable won't be in Deadpool 3 at all. Oddly enough, he didn't celebrate the mercenary's birthday with all of Wade's friends (as shown in the trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine).
Many fans**, Deadpool's time travel antics are exactly what got him into trouble with the TVA in the first place. Maybe the self-styled timeline protector found the cable first?
But at the same time, it's important to remember that just because an actor says something, doesn't mean they're 100% real. Therefore, fans of the cable should not completely lose hope.
Domino-Saki Baez
Back in June 2023, Domino's actor Saki Baez had explicitly told Collider that she "won't actually be in Deadpool 3."
Like the cable, her character's absence from the film is a bit disturbing. After all, even Task Force X members Peter and Star Breaker inexplicably appeared at Wade Wilson's birthday celebration in Deadpool and Wolverine – how could Domino not be there?
This character first appeared in Deadpool 2, where she helps the squad stop the mutant Russell from embarking on the dark path of life. According to the events in that film, she is allegedly still alive and well.
Maybe Baez will end up surprising the audience. After all, there will always be a reboot!
Weasel - T.J. Miller
The weasel, played by T.J. Miller, was a key comedic character in the first two films of the Deadpool series.
Sadly, in many ways, the actor has been mired in **criminal charges and legal trouble since 2017. Since then, he hasn't had any notable on-screen work – and was quickly removed from other projects he had worked on.
Because of this, fans don't expect the weasel to return. It wouldn't be too surprising if Wade, played by Ryan Reynolds, made a joke about his extraneous causes.
Gina Carano as the Angel of Dust
Much like the weasel played by TJ Miller, Gina Carano has also gotten into a lot of trouble in the public eye.
Carano played the Dust Angel in the first Deadpool movie, where she helps Wade Wilson's first adventure villain Ajax. Surprisingly, her death was not confirmed after the end of the movie - so she may still be alive.
In early 2021, the actress found herself sharing anti-Semitic sentiments and other extreme and offensive views on social media, which led to her being quickly removed from The Mandalorian by Disney.
Since Disney signed a check for Deadpool vs. Wolverine, they probably didn't want to get involved with the actress at all — especially since she had just sued them with the help of Elon Musk.
Who else is expected to return and has confirmed a return?
The final film almost certainly contains a large number of returning faces, many of whom may have only made cameo appearances.
The recent trailer revealed Aaron Stamford's appearance as the Heat in X2, while previous reports revealed that Jennifer Garner's Elektra will appear in Deadpool's next adventure.
Even Taylor Swift may play a small role in it.
A scene at the beginning of the film's first trailer, where Wade Wilson celebrates his birthday, confirms the return of several familiar faces. These include Vanessa as Morena Bacarin, Sonic Kid as Brianna Hildebrand, Coulix as Stefan Capic, Leslie Ugmus as El Blind, Karan Soni as Dobinder, and many more.
Since Hugh Jackman's Wolverine is the central character, it's hard to imagine fans not seeing some of the mutant's former teammates in some form. This could include Professor X played by Patrick Stewart, Storm Girl played by Halle Berry, Cyclops played by James Marsden, and many more.
In addition, the TVA plays a key role in the plot, which could lead to the emergence of a cast in Loki – including Tom Hiddleston's eponymous god (who now ties the multiverse together).
