At the age of 14, due to the early death of her father, her uncle who raised her arranged a marriage for her, Huang Jie resisted hard and had a big fight with her uncle, and she decided to escape from this feudal family when she knew that the trouble was fruitless, so she went to Wuhan from her hometown Jiangling alone.
Huang Jie, who came to Wuhan, went to his hometown and ran to his friends, living a wandering life.
At the age of 16, that is, in 1926, the Wuhan branch of the Whampoa Military Academy began to recruit students and began to recruit female students. Huang Jie resolutely decided to apply for the exam. At that time, the exam topic was "The Difference Between Social Evolution and Revolution", and Huang Jie wrote only 108 words in the whole article, to the effect that social progress is natural, and revolution is artificial.
She only did two of the other eight questions, so that she didn't want to look at them until the day the list was released, because she knew that she didn't do well in the exam. But in the end, she still went, and when she arrived at the school, she saw her name on the admission list, and changed four words next to her name: Ruzi can be taught.
Huang Jie, who was admitted to the military academy, cut his hair short, happily took a photo and sent it home, but he didn't expect to be scolded by his uncle as the scum of the family.
At that time, *** was the captain of the first team of the political brigade, Huang Jie would not have thought that she would marry him 20 years later, and she would be with him for the rest of her life.

In 1928, 18-year-old Huang Jie was appointed by the party organization to come to Songzi County, Hubei Province as the first secretary of the county party committee.
18 years old, for most girls, is the time to be a young girl. Eighteen-year-old Huang Jie has grown into a tenacious county party secretary under the leadership of the party, and under Huang Jie's direct instigation and organization, the Songzi County Party Committee launched a vigorous anti-smoking campaign and stormed the prison to rescue the imprisoned toiling masses.
At that time, the local tyrants and bullies in Songzi County were rampant, and the poor people suffered greatly, so Huang Jie organized the local people and students to rush into the homes of the local tyrants and bullies in one fell swoop, confiscated the big smoking guns in their hands, and opened their private cells to rescue a large number of innocent laborers who were imprisoned here.
However, the local tyrants and bullies who did not give up colluded with the local reactionary forces to form a militia to retaliate against the broad masses of the people under the leadership of the Communist Party.
In 1929, Huang Jie held an uprising under the instructions of his superiors, and under the personal command of Huang Jie, the peasants of Jiulinggang in Songzi County held a "riot".
In 1930, 20-year-old Huang Jie was assigned by the organization to Shanghai as a secret traffic officer for *** and other comrades.
At this time, the White Terror in Shanghai was very serious, and Huang Jie often disguised himself as people of different identities to shuttle under the noses of the enemy.
But unfortunately, in May 1933, Huang Jie was imprisoned in Tilanqiao Prison in the British Concession in Shanghai**, and the enemy tried all kinds of ways to pry open the mouth of this young girl who was only 23 years old, but Huang Jie gritted his teeth and never revealed his true identity, and the enemy sentenced her to 5 years in prison for "endangering **" when he found nothing.
Huang Jie's sentencing was highly valued by Song Qingling. She brought in a prominent barrister to defend her. In the end, with the full help of Song Qingling, Huang Jie's sentence was commuted to two and a half years.
In 1935, Huang Jie ended his career behind bars. The arduous life behind bars not only did not make Huang Jie depressed, but made her more determined.
In 1940, Wang Jie left the white area where she had worked for many years and came to Yan'an, where she met *** for the second time

In the second year after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, that is, in May 1946, 36-year-old Huang Jie married 45-year-old ***. Since then, the two have relied on each other to help each other, shared weal and woe, and have gone through 44 spring and autumn seasons together.
The wedding was very simple, some of the comrades-in-arms gave a chicken, and some gave a duck. One is to congratulate, and the other is to take advantage of the opportunity of marriage to replenish the body. Then the couple said a few words and the wedding was over. Although the wedding seems to be ordinary, for *** and Huang Jie, it is a real promise between the two hearts, and they are heart-to-heart.
At the beginning of 1947, Chiang Kai-shek ordered Hu Zongnan to launch a key offensive against Yan'an, and decided to abandon Yan'an on his own initiative, and decided to transfer the rear organs and non-combatants to the Jinsui liberated area in batches.
At this time, Huang Jie, who was already pregnant, was difficult to transfer with the large army.
In this year, Huang Jie and ***'s son Xu Xiaoyan was born. But at this time, *** was on the front line with illness commanding the operation. The difficulty of attacking Linfen City, the length of time, the great consumption, and the tragic situation of the battle are rare in the history of the development of the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan Military Region. In his later years, Huang Jie lived a simple and peaceful life, still reading newspapers every day and caring about national affairs.
At 8 a.m. on June 18, 2007, Huang Jie died of heart failure in Beijing at the age of 98.
In accordance with Huang Jie's wishes, the children scattered her ashes back to his hometown, near the waters of the Yangtze River in Gangneung. was scattered into the Yangtze River together with some of the ashes of Marshal ***, who had been with her all her life.
