A heat pump is a device that transfers heat energy from a low-temperature heat source to a high-temperature heat source. Typically used in heat pump installations, the low-temperature heat source is the medium around us – air, river water, seawater – or the discharge of auxiliary fluids from industrial production equipment, which often have temperatures close to those of the surrounding medium. The operating principle of a heat pump unit is the same as that of a compression chiller; In a small air conditioner, in order to make the most of its efficiency, the same set of equipment is used to cool down the air conditioner in the summer or heat it in the winter. In winter heating, the evaporator and condenser in the air heater are exchanged through a reversing valve, when the air conditioner cools down in summer, it runs according to the refrigeration working conditions, and the high-pressure steam discharged by the compressor enters the condenser through the reversing valve (also known as the four-way valve), and the refrigerant vapor is condensed into a liquid, enters the evaporator through the throttling device, and absorbs heat in the evaporator, cools the indoor air, and the refrigerant vapor after evaporation is sucked in by the compressor after the reversing valve, so that the refrigeration cycle is realized over and over again. In winter heating, the reversing valve is first turned to the working position of the heat pump, so the high-pressure refrigerant vapor discharged by the compressor flows into the indoor evaporator (for condenser) after the reversing valve, and the latent heat released when the refrigerant steam condenses heats the indoor air to achieve the purpose of indoor heating, and the condensed liquid refrigerant enters the condenser (for evaporator) from the reverse flow through the throttling device to absorb external heat and evaporate, and the evaporated steam is sucked in by the compressor after passing through the reversing valve to complete the heating cycle. In this way, the heat from the outside air (or circulating water) is "pumped" into the room with a higher temperature, so it is called a "heat pump".
