At present, the main laboratory qualifications in China include CMA laboratory qualification certification and CNAS laboratory accreditation. As the main laboratory qualification available in China, what is the difference between CMA and CNAS? Today, I will briefly introduce the difference between the two.
CMA (Inspection and Testing Agency Qualification Certification).
CMA stands for China Metrology AccreditationMetrology certification, also known as metrology certification, is based on the "Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China", "Certification and Accreditation Regulations of the People's Republic of China" and other relevant laws and regulations, by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA) unified management, supervision and comprehensive coordination of inspection and testing institutions of the qualification accreditation work. CMA is a means of mandatory assessment for inspection institutions that issue notarized data for the society, and it is a mandatory approval system for inspection and testing institutions to enter the inspection and testing service market.
CNAS (Laboratory Accreditation).
CNAS is the English abbreviation of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity AssessmentIn accordance with the provisions of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Certification and Accreditation, it is a national accreditation body approved and authorized by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA), which is responsible for the accreditation of certification bodies, laboratories and inspection institutions and other related institutions. If the inspection and testing institution has passed the assessment of the China Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment and has the corresponding basic conditions and capabilities, but has not been recognized in accordance with the law, the test data issued by the inspection and testing agency has no legal effect.
In order to give you a more intuitive and detailed understanding of the difference between the two, we can take a look at the comparison in the following table.
Therefore, when choosing a third-party inspection and testing agency, you should choose a laboratory with different qualifications according to your own needs.
If it is necessary to use the inspection and testing results that have the role of legal certification in China, an inspection and testing agency with CMA qualification should be selected as a necessary condition;
If it is necessary to issue valid inspection and testing data to the international region, an inspection and testing organization with CNAS accreditation qualification should be preferred.
Similarly, when using the inspection and testing report as the basis for work, you should also confirm whether the inspection and testing report is stamped with the corresponding qualification mark to ensure the correct use of the third-party inspection and testing report.
