Performance equivalent to Apple s M1 chip? Huawei s other new chip has been exposed

Mondo Technology Updated on 2024-02-01

After the return of Huawei's Kirin 9000S chip to 5G, we have been expecting Huawei to break through more constraints and pave the way for self-developed chips to bring more surprises.

According to the news, Huawei will bring 7 Kirin chips back this year, including two laptop processors, two Nova mobile phone chips, a new Huawei P series chipset and two Mate series chips.

We have previously reported on the specifications of a Huawei Kirin personal computer chip**, the performance is the same as that of the Apple A12Z, and today we bring another PC Kirin chip, which is reported to be equivalent to the performance of the Apple M1 chip.

Today, digital blogger @Fixed Focus Digital said via Weibo:

A piece of information shared by netizens,There's no way to determine the authenticity for you,Because it may be an experimental film,If it's true,Probably look at the performance equivalent to the performance of Apple's M1 chip in previous years。

The information provided according to the chip architecture is as follows:

4 Taishan cores (SMT hyper-threading).

4 Tarzan mid-cores (SMT hyper-threading).

maleoon 910-10alu

Large core npux2

Micronucleus npux2

ram:support max-32gb lpddr5-6400

At the same time, the blogger said that "the performance is equivalent to the performance of Apple's M1 chip in previous years", which reminds us of the Kirin 9006C processor carried by the previously launched Qingyun L540 laptop, which uses 5nm process technology and 8-core architecture, and the maximum frequency can reach 313ghz。

The information further reveals that the Kirin 9006C chipset uses 5nm process technology and has an octa-core Arm CPU (four A77 and four A55) with a maximum clock speed of 313GHz, slightly lower than Apple's M1, the M1 high-performance core has a maximum frequency of 320 ghz。At the same time, the peak clock rate of the Kirin 9006C looks similar to that of another chip, the Kirin 9000, which was produced by TSMC for Huawei before the caption.

Therefore, it is speculated that the newly exposed PC chip may be another 7nm process version of the Kirin 90006C, similar to the new version of the Kirin 9000S.

Let's take a look back at the specifications of the Kirin 9000S octa-core chip equipped with the Huawei Mate 60 Pro in August last year, including the following cores and their respective frequencies:

4 x cores at 1.53 ghz

ARM Cortex-A510 core].

3 x cores at 2.15 ghz

Taishan nuclear taishan].

1 x cores at 2.62 ghz

Custom Taishan core taishan].

In terms of graphics, the Huawei Kirin 9000s has a Maliang 910 GPU. It has a clock speed of 750MHz. In addition, the new chipset is equipped with new and upgraded versions of Da Vinci, ISP, and Baron modems.

The new Kirin 9000S processor uses the second-generation 7nm process of domestic chip manufacturers, which is not as advanced as TSMC's N5 production. Despite the lower configuration, with a similar score to the Kirin 9000 processor, this new chip runs very efficiently. The Kirin 9000s are 4% and 17% faster on single-core and multi-core Geekbench, respectively.

In any case, we look forward to Huawei's full return in the field of chips.
