On February 8, when the rain and snow faded and the temperature warmed up, Cai Dapa, a fishery farmer in Xitanhu Village, Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was putting the finishing touches on his fish pond before the Spring Festival.

You're on patrol again! Seeing Yao Shenghua, the leader of the low-voltage field shift of the Wuhan Power Supply Company's Changdu Lake Power Supply Station, who came to patrol the line, Daddy Cai greeted him.

Xitan Lake Village is adjacent to the main port of Changdu Lake, with abundant water resources, and most of the villagers rely on fish farming for their livelihood. Cai's father and his family contracted 90 acres of fish ponds, and in the past, it was often necessary to use diesel generators to aerrate the fish ponds and use feeders to feed materials. In October 2023, the power supply in the village will be completed to "change to straight", and now there is one meter for each household, the wires in front of and behind the house have been installed in a standardized manner, and there are special people who regularly inspect them.

The meter is not damaged, the terminal post is intact, and the current and voltage are normal, so you can use electricity with confidence. Yao Shenghua and his colleagues checked around Cai's father's fish pond meter and instructed him.

There are 4 total electricity meters in the village, 87 farmers have achieved direct copying to households, and there are 4 transformers. In the case that the meter is not damaged, it usually takes five or six hours to complete the electricity inspection. Yao Shenghua told reporters, "If I come to inspect again during the Spring Festival, the villagers and I are relieved!" After saying that, he and his colleagues rushed to the next location to inspect.

Tu Junhua, a retired veteran party secretary of Xitanhu Village, said that before the village's "transformation to straightening", the power was often insufficient and the lines were not safe. In the summer high temperature, it is easy to "turn over the pond" if there is no oxygen and power outage in time, and the loss of fishery farmers is difficult to estimate. "Now, the voltage is stable, the line safety problem has been solved, and the quality of all aspects of aeration and feeding for farmers has been greatly improved. Tu Junhua introduced that there are now nearly 2,000 acres of intensive fish ponds in the village, and the annual electricity consumption in 2023 will be 310543 kilowatt hours, and the annual fish production of the village will be about 4 million catties, creating an economic value of more than 3,000 yuan. "With the support of high-quality and reliable electricity, some farmers have also opened farmhouses and developed the tertiary industry. ”

The "pastoral fishing ground" in the village is a newly opened farmhouse integrating leisure, fishing and catering after the "transformation to straightening". The owner, Wan Huaqi, set up an open-air roof outside the house, set up four or five tables and chairs, and prepared to welcome the first wave of guests during the Spring Festival.

We have 10 acres of fishing grounds and more than 50 acres of fish ponds. Guests eat after fishing, and enjoy the delicious taste of fresh fish in time. Wan Huaqi said, "Nowadays, electricity is not only safer, but also the cost of electricity has been reduced a lot." Open a farmhouse, we are very confident! ”
