(Lao Zhu said pension-24-13).The supply gap is huge, and the industrial development is insufficient. According to the "Statistical Classification of the Pension Industry (2020)" released by the National Bureau of Statistics, elderly products can be divided into nine categories: food, daily necessities and auxiliary products, fitness products, leisure and entertainment products, health care products, medicines, medical devices and assistive devices, smart and wearable equipment, and elderly scooters. According to the "Research Report on the Consumption and Demand Willingness of the Elderly from the Perspective of Demand Side" released by the China Association on Aging, there are more than 60,000 kinds of elderly products in the world, including more than 40,000 kinds in Japan and only more than 2,000 kinds in China, which is a big gap.
In December 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the National Health Commission, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Office of the National Working Committee on Aging issued the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of the Elderly Products Industry", making it clear that by 2025, the overall scale of the elderly products industry will exceed 5 trillion yuan, and according to forward-looking estimates, as of 2022, the market size of China's elderly care products has reached about 334 trillion yuan, the future development space is broad.
However, at present, China's pension products market can not fully meet the needs of the elderly, and the production enterprises do not have a sufficient understanding of the elderly demand market.
Regional competition: Jiangsu, Guangdong and Shandong have the largest number of pension enterprises, all exceeding 30,000. According to Qichamao data, as of April 2023, there are 425605 pension enterprises in China, of which the number of enterprises in three provinces has exceeded 30,000. Jiangsu Province ranks first among all provinces in terms of the number of pension enterprises, with a total of 39,918, followed by Guangdong Province with 38,794 and Shandong Province with 36,874.
