The Guizhou-Guizhou Railway is an important transportation channel for the southwest of China to go to the sea, and the line runs through the mountains and mountains at the southern foot of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and the special karst landform characteristics are easy to cause the collapse of dangerous rocks in the mountains and endanger the safety of railway transportation. In order to ensure the safety of driving, 17 members of the dangerous stone work area of the Jinchengjiang Road and Bridge Workshop of the Liuzhou Public Works Section of the Nanning Bureau of the National Railway need to be in 213There are 86 mountains and 394 dangerous rocks in the 957-kilometer route. They climb mountains and mountains, climb rocks and walk walls, search mountains and sweep rocks, eliminate dangers and dangers, and are called "iron monkeys" on the cliffs.

Eliminate dangerous rocks on the line and set up an "iron monkey team".

At about 8 o'clock in the morning of January 29, the reporter drove to Jinchengjiang District, Hechi City, to interview the "Iron Monkey" search and stone sweeping team in the Jincheng Road and Bridge Workshop Road and Bridge Dangerous Stone Work Area of the Liuzhou Public Works Section of the Nanning Bureau of the National Railway.

It was raining lightly all the way, and the mountains on both sides of the highway were hidden from time to time. At 9:40 a.m., entering the boundary of the river pond, the mountains that could only be seen from a distance seemed to be close to the magnifying glass, and the mountains seemed to be reachable. When you enter the Jinchengjiang District, you can see the mountain peaks from any place you look.

The Guizhou-Guizhou railway line is full of mountains along the way, and in order to ensure the safety of railway driving, there is the existence of the 'iron monkey' team. Yang Guicheng, the foreman of the Jinchengjiang Road and Bridge Dangerous Stone Work Area, said that in order to eliminate the dangerous stones along the railway, the Jinchengjiang Road and Bridge Workshop of the Liuzhou Public Works Section specially set up an "iron monkey" search and stone sweeping team, with a total of 17 people. They are responsible for the Guizhou-Guizhou railway line 21386 mountains and 394 dangerous rocks in the 957-kilometer jurisdiction line were inspected.

According to the regulations, among the mountains along the line, there are two mountains with first-class dangerous rock points, which must be climbed and inspected at least once a month; There are 24 mountains with second-class dangerous rock points, which must be climbed and inspected at least once a quarter; The remaining 60 mountains have ** dangerous rock points, which are generally climbed and inspected at least once in half a year.

However, during the flood season from March to October every year, especially from May to August, these mountains along the route will temporarily strengthen inspections. Before the Spring Festival this year, in order to prevent the occurrence of rockfalls, landslides and other situations that affect the safety of railway transportation, all the staff of the dangerous stone work area were dispatched to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the dangerous rockfall on the mountain.

At about 10 o'clock in the morning of the same day, Yang Guicheng will lead 5 young workers to carry out inspection operations in the mountains along the K163+240 line of the Qiangui Line.

According to the regulations, as the main person in charge of the inspection that day, Yang Guicheng read out the inspection requirements, and counted and checked the tools that the workers carried, such as helmets, measuring rulers, safety ropes, spray paint, etc., and finally the workers put the sorted tools into their backpacks, and then put on the armbands with the words "Iron Monkey Searching Mountains and Sweeping Stones", and set off.

The cliffs sing "conquer" to protect the safety of the route

At about 10:20 a.m. on January 29, the reporter and the "iron monkeys" walked for 10 minutes along the railway line to the mountain along the K163+240 line of the Qiangui Line, where there is a first-class dangerous rock point.

At this time, after Yang Guicheng checked the workers' equipment again according to the regulations, he lined up and walked up the stone steps of different sizes.

It's okay here, there are hand-carved stone steps, and some mountains, where there is no place to settle at all, all rely on limbs to climb. Zou Yuesheng, a young worker, said that in September 2023, after graduating from Liuzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College, he applied for a job in the railway. He studied bridge and tunnel, and when he was first assigned to the dangerous stone work area, he didn't know what to do to search the mountains and sweep the rocks.

The first time he carried out the search for mountains and rocks, Zou Yuesheng had to go to the dangerous rock point to inspect, all the way were very narrow paths, half a foot could not be put down, only stepped on the rock mass, next to the cliff. Although there were old workers guiding him in his work at that time, and he was also wearing a safety rope, he was still scared, his whole body trembled, and he couldn't move his feet at all.

Now, after nearly 5 months of training, Zou Yuesheng has climbed the mountain like walking on the ground. In the face of dangerous rocks that have no way to go but need to be "diagnosed", he can neatly tie the safety rope, fasten the safety belt, pull the hanging rope himself, skillfully take out the sickle to remove the weeds, and sort out a sheep intestine path to reach the dangerous rock. In cooperation with the workers, one person holds a notebook to make records, and the other uses a tape measure to measure the size, crack length and width of the dangerous rock. After the data are summarized, it will be an important basis for judging the hazards of dangerous rocks, and prepare for the observation and treatment of dangerous rocks.

In January, Zou Yuesheng passed the internship period and became a regular worker. Although he still fears difficulties when he is working, his mantra has been changed to "conquer".

On that day, because of the sporadic light rain, the "iron monkeys" did not climb the mountain, but just followed the bottom of the mountain to observe the dangerous rocks covered by the active protective net of dangerous rocks on the mountain to see if there was any abnormal situation around. At the same time, the reporter looked at the place where the mountain was covered with a net, nearly 100 meters from the ground, and there was no attachment to see anything in addition to the towering weeds.

Improve professional quality and reshape the spirit of "iron monkey".

At about 12 noon on January 29, after nearly an hour and a half of mountain inspection, Yang Guicheng and the "Iron Monkey" team went down the mountain, walked to the outside of the line, and began to count the number of people and equipment, and professionally completed the inspection task of the day.

We are younger and better equipped than before. Yang Guicheng said that when the old Qiangui railway line, there was an "iron monkey class", in addition to serving as a dangerous rock inspection, they were also responsible for safety inspections along the line. At present, there are 17 people in the "Iron Monkey" search and stone removal team, the oldest is 36 years old, and the youngest is 22 years old, all of whom are strong young people. And with the continuous improvement of railway safety requirements, the current equipment is more and more complete, the basic helmet, sickle, safety rope, painting and other tools are necessary, but also the introduction of oblique photography, close photogrammetry and airborne LiDAR technology, the application of dangerous rock mass 3D modeling data analysis software multi-dimensional inspection and analysis of dangerous rock falling hidden dangers, greatly improve the inspection efficiency and accuracy.

In order to make the "iron monkeys" more professional and ensure the safety of the route and personal safety, the Jinchengjiang Road and Bridge Workshop of Liuzhou Public Works Section will carry out geology, water ripple and other business training from time to time, and cooperate with local climbing clubs and rescue agencies in Hechi City to invite professionals to carry out training in physical fitness, climbing skills, self-rescue knowledge and skills.

The Spring Festival has arrived, with the drop in temperature, the pressure on the safety of railway operation has increased, and the unfavorable weather factors are undoubtedly another test for the "iron monkeys". Although the "Iron Monkey" team is a team dominated by young people, in the face of difficulties, they devote themselves to the difficult mountain patrol work with more professionalism to ensure the safety of the Spring Festival route and inherit the "Iron Monkey Spirit".
