While many Chinese New Year festivals across the United States today feature parades, at the time, such celebrations were unheard of for any non-strictly American holiday.

San Francisco's Spring Festival Parade has now become one of the largest in the world and one of the most acclaimed events. This is also considered to be the highlight of the entire festival, with other celebrations including beauty pageants, street markets, and marathons, among others.
But the Chinese New Year is becoming less and less flavorful, why is that?
