From September 2 to 6, 2023, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and relevant institutions jointly released the research report "The Road to Low-Carbon Transformation of Enterprises - Sustainable Development Actions of Enterprises in China 2022 2023", which was selected by Junlebao Group and recognized for its innovative practice in low-carbon management of the value chain.
This is the third in a series of corporate sustainability action reports jointly released by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the China Chamber of International Commerce. Junlebao stood out among many excellent cases and was included in the report along with Lenovo Group, Siemens (China), Ant Group and other enterprises, and was the only Chinese dairy company selected.
In her foreword to the report, UNDP Representative in China pointed out that getting the SDGs back on track will require transformative action across society, and companies and businesses will be key to helping lead the way.
The survey report records the implementation of the low-carbon transformation model by Junlebao and its value chain partners, and deeply analyzes the implementation of the "family ranch" model in cooperation with local farmers, as well as Junlebao's improvement of the information management level of "family ranch" and the improvement of the emission reduction ability of the whole life cycle of products.

01 Industrial chain.
With the concept of "integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries", Junlebao has formed an ecological cycle industrial chain of "planting grass in the field, feeding cattle with grass, producing milk from cows, returning manure to the field, and generating electricity from biogas", and has transferred more than 300,000 acres of land to grassland on Zhangjiakou Dam to return farmland to grassland; The manure produced by dairy cows is collected, treated and recycled, biogas residue is used to backfill cattle in bed, biogas slurry is used as organic fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer, and biogas is used to generate electricity, only one 10,000-head pasture can generate more than 10 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year; Junlebao has also launched a distributed photovoltaic power generation project to realize a green factory, and it is expected that by next year, more than 20% of the electricity consumption of Junlebao factory will be switched to clean energy.
02 Production mode.
Junlebao innovates the production mode of "integration of the whole industry chain", and in the banner milk powder factory in Zhangjiakou, the pasture is built in the pasture, and the factory is built in the pasture, and the fresh milk extruded by the cows has zero transportation and zero transit, and is directly transmitted to the processing link through the low-temperature clean pipeline, which minimizes the fuel consumption and carbon emissions in logistics and transportation, and realizes carbon reduction and pollution reduction from the source of production.
03 Achieving low-carbon agriculture.
Protecting species diversity through dairy cow breeding can effectively improve the health and production efficiency of dairy cow offspring, increase dairy cow yields, reduce the number of dairy cows and reduce greenhouse gas emissions under the same milk yield; At present, Junlebao has breeding institutions such as breeding bull stations, core breeding farms and embryo transfer demonstration farms, and the embryo laboratory with an annual production capacity of 50,000 has also been put into use, and 13 excellent breeding bulls have entered the top 200 in the world.
