Chen Jie, male, born in July 1965, from Fuqing, Fujian Province, is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a professor, a doctoral supervisor, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, an IEEE Fellow, and an IFAC Fellow. He received his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1986, 1996 and 2001, respectively. Professor Chen Jie was the Director of the Department of Automatic Control, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Science and Technology Division of the School of Information Science and Technology, Executive Vice President of the Academy of Science and Technology, and Assistant to the President of the School of Information Science and Technology. In April 2014, he was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology. In July 2018, he was appointed as the President (Vice Minister level) and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University. He is currently the Deputy Minister of Education.
