The United States has cracked down, and China's chip import and export and production have ushered in great changes
The more advanced the technology, the more important the chip. Integrated circuits have become a key element of scientific and technological competitiveness and the main battlefield of Sino-US scientific and technological competition.
With the data released by the customs and the National Bureau of Statistics, the import, export and production of chips in China have begun to undergo major changes.
The first is the import and export of tablet computers, as shown in the figure below, which is the volume, growth rate and deficit of China's tablet imports and exports in the past seven years.
It can be seen that the import value of chips has declined for two consecutive years, approaching 440 billion yuan in 2021, 415.6 billion yuan in 2022, and 349.5 billion yuan in 2023
Exports, on the other hand, are actually quite stable, surpassing 150 billion yuan in both 2021 and 2022, and although they have declined slightly in 2023 to only 136 billion yuan, they have performed significantly better than the import figures.
Looking at the chip deficit again, it is even more obvious, reaching a peak of 286 billion yuan in 2021, falling to 261.7 billion yuan in 2022, and falling to 213.4 billion yuan in 2023, which is getting lower and lower, so we can see that our performance in chips has become stronger and stronger in the past three years.
If we look at the number of imports and exports of chips, we can also see the clues. The number of imports continued to decline, the number of exports fell slightly, and the deficit became smaller and smaller.
Finally, let's take a look at the country's chip production from 2020 to 2023, and I think everyone will be clearer.
In 2020 it was only 2614200 million, followed by an increase of 333% to 3594300 million, the country fell by 11. in 2022 due to a sharp decline in the global chip industry6% to only 3241900 million.
But in 2023, in the context of the global chip industry recession, China's chip industry has grown by 69%, with an increase of 3514400 million tablets.
The United States has always suppressed China's chip industry, but in fact, since 2020, the suppression has become more targeted and the ban has become stricter. Especially in the past two years, the goal is very clear, to ** our 14nm process logic chips, 18nm DRAM chips, and 128-layer NAND flash memory chips.
However, it is obvious that in such a severe situation, on the one hand, we have survived by continuing to increase production, increase exports, reduce imports, and increase the self-sufficiency rate of natural rubber, which can be seen from the relevant data of the above three years.
While most of our companies are at the lower end of the value chain overall, there's no denying that we're constantly breaking new ground and getting better and better.
The development of China's integrated circuit products has gone through the initial stage, and we expect that the country's performance in integrated circuits will be better in the next step, continue to reduce imports, increase exports, increase output, improve self-sufficiency, and reduce foreign dependence.
