Yongzuo Temple is located in the Twin Towers Park in the southeast of Taiyuan City, 4 kilometers away from the city center. In May 2006, it was announced as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Yongzuo Temple is the only temple in the country that adopts all the brick imitation wood beamless buildings, and the Daxiong Treasure Hall, the meditation hall, the guest hall, and the three holy pavilions in the temple are all representatives of the beamless brick structure buildings in the Ming Dynasty. The twin towers built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty are the most complete in shape, the largest in scale, and the highest group of towers in the national brick tower in the double combination example, which can be called the most of the twin towers in China. The Ming and Qing dynasties engraved the "Bao Xian Tang Collection of Ancient Laws" and "Ancient Bao Xian Tang Rules", which gathered more than 260 pieces of ink blots of famous calligraphers in the past dynasties, and the historical, calligraphy and artistic value is extremely high, which is extremely rare in the country. There are more than 6,000 peonies of various colors in the temple, especially the peony famous Zixia Xian is precious, it is the only existing peony of the Ming Dynasty in our country, and it is also the oldest existing temple peony in China.

Yongzuo Temple sits in the south and faces north, built according to the situation, condescending. In the middle of the Ming Dynasty, in order to make up for the regret that the former cultural city was lost after Song Taizong burned Jinyang City, the Taiyuan gentry have elected Fu Lin, who is highly anticipated, as the leader, according to the study of feng shui, raised funds to build a tower at the southeast "Kuixing" in the slightly lower terrain, named "Xuanwen Tower", and built the temple "Yongming Temple" at the same time. In the 9th year after the completion of this tower, Zhu Minchun, the 11th Jin Dynasty, felt that the status of the narrow and simple temple and the important town of Taiyuan was really incommensurate, so he specially invited Master Miaofeng (commonly known as Fudeng), the abbot of Xiantong Temple of Wutai Mountain, to preside over the overall situation of expansion. When Master Miaofeng, who was close to his prime, saw that the Xuanwen Pagoda was slightly inclined to the northwest, he suggested to the King of Jin that while expanding the temple, a new pagoda should be built on the side of the old pagoda.

King Jin adopted the suggestion of Master Miaofeng, and spent 4 years to build the three main halls of the temple, that is, the main building of the existing Yongzuo Temple hall: the Daxiong Treasure Hall, the Three Holy Pavilions, the two chambers of the abbot and the two corridors with the hall, and the new tower located in the northwest of the old tower, take the meaning of "gentleman ten thousand years, Yongxi Zuoyin" in the "Book of Songs, Daya", named "Yongzuo Temple".

The construction of the Tianwang Palace, the backyard gate, the front yard halls and the mountain gate hall in the original planning was finally terminated due to the old age and infirmity of the master, and it was not until 80 years later that the Qing Dynasty Kangxi 30 years (1691), only by the Yangqu County Governor Liu Jiang convened craftsmen to build the temple wall from the east side hall to the west side hall, and opened up the mountain gate, and asked the former Yangqu County Governor Dai Mengxiong to inscribe the door amount of "Gion Shengjing". Today's Yongzuo Temple two gates, is the mountain gate built at that time.

* Sixteen years (1927), Taiyuan Yang Ziduan and others could not bear to see the Yongzuo Temple abandoned and eroded, so they actively raised funds and donations, repaired the tower temple, and on the basis of repairing the old, opposite the Daxiong Treasure Palace, the north end of the east and west side halls, broke ground to build 6 single-slope north houses, in the position of the original Tianwang Palace, the new courtyard gate, constituting the traditional courtyard layout, is now the temple door layout of Yongzuo Temple, the door book "Yongzuo Zen Forest".

Yongzuo Temple stands on the high platform, the gate single eaves rest on the top of the mountain, the green bricks and gray tiles and green ridges, and the two sides of the word Panlong glazed wall. Climb the stairs to enter the temple, the flower pond is flourishing, the flower walls on both sides are undulating, the leaky flower windows of various shapes are inlaid in it, there is a moon gate leading to the garden on both sides, and there are staircase corridors on both sides leading to the bottom of the tower.

Along the middle of the road to the second gate, there is a joint in front of the door to say: "The wind algae has no dome, and the flower loves the purple;Karma will meet, the temple seeks Yongzuo Tower to seek double", highlighting the flowers and towers to the fullest.

Entering the second courtyard, the front is the Daxiong Treasure Hall, and the two sides are the meditation hall and the guest hall. Daxiong Treasure Hall is carved with blue bricks in the Ming Dynasty, famous for the "beamless" structure of the whole imitation wood structure, and the decorative components such as weeping lotus, finch for the top, fangtou and Huaban at the upper end of the eaves pillar are finely chiseled, which inject exquisite and delicate soul into the majestic. Mr. Liang Sicheng's word "rare" is a very high evaluation of this palace. In the three coupon holes in the hall on the first floor, Amitabha Buddha, Shakyamuni Buddha and Oriental Medicine Buddha sit quietly, with an indifferent expression, not bothered by the red earthly affairs, everyone appreciates the flowers, and the Buddha appreciates all beings.

The second floor is the "Three Holy Pavilions", also known as the Guanyin Pavilion. The single eaves rest on the top of the hill type beamless high pavilion stands, enter the hall like the canopy treasure top of the brick carving caisson bucket arch out of the stacked astringent, the brick is like wood with unique ingenuity, it is the treasure in this "beamless flying pavilion". The hall is now dedicated to Master Guanyin, who moved from the original Zizhulin Temple in 1985, and is flanked by Manjushri and Fuxian.

The meditation hall and the guest hall were founded in the 36th to 40th years of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1608-1612), with a width of 5 rooms, and are dome-shaped beamless brick imitation wood buildings. The "meditation hall" on the west side used to be the place where the monks chanted scriptures, and the "guest hall" on the east side used to be the place where the monks received pilgrims. Now it is the Ancient Pagoda Exhibition Hall.

In front of the Daxiong Treasure Palace, nearly 400 years of Ming Dynasty peony Zixia fairy is fiddling with its lilac gauze skirt, seven beads of flower crown such as dragging the ground long yarn, its branches twist and turn around such as the concubine drunk or standing or lying, the waist is graceful, the posture is elegant, standing in the ancient temple Zen courtyard. "The true concubine in the sky is on the jade mirror platform, and she left the Zixia cup in her drunkenness. It has been smoked and dyed from the country of incense, and I am more afraid of the clever tailoring of the flowers. The great poet Yuan Haowen of the Jin Yuan Dynasty had already appreciated its drunken and lying beauty, and happily admired the wonderfulness of this flower.

If Zixia Immortal is an arrogant and reserved mortal degrading immortal, then the peony scattered elsewhere in the temple is an angel in the world. The "Yao Huang" of the Rong Zhaoren is the goose yellow at the beginning, and the bloom is golden, which is different from the noble nature of the flowers, and is praised as the "King of Flowers" by the Song Dynasty Zhou Shihou; The purple and distinct "Wei Zi" is plump and gorgeous, and the fame of "Ten Thousand Flowers and One Product" has once crowned the capital; The two-color petals of "Luoyang brocade" are beautiful and gorgeous, such as Dongwu Erqiao, and the thick posture of "red and purple between the two colors" is very gorgeous; The mung bean-colored "Ou Jiabi" is soft and slightly drooping, and the petals are crystal clear, such as soft fragrance, warm jade, clean and elegant; The bright purple "Green Dragon Lying Ink Pool" is in full bloom.

Coming out of the backyard, passing through the East Moon Gate and walking up the stairs along the flower wall is the long stele corridor of blue bricks and vermilion. The only two remaining places in the country "Nian Nujiao Chibi Nostalgia", one is placed in Yongzuo Temple.

Go up the ladder to the bottom of the tower, the twin peaks go straight into the sky, and there is the trend of "towering the dragon and the universe". Climb the tower overlook: near the pagoda temple, the niche pavilion is exquisite, the pines and cypresses are green, and the flowers are fragrantIn the distance, Taiyuan City stands tall buildings, green trees are shady, such as green and green dotted among them, the city is distinct, the viaduct is about it, Fenshui is like a jade belt flying, the West Mountain is hidden in the smoke and clouds.

The towering twin towers, ancient buildings, precious inscriptions, and legendary peonies have endowed Yongzuo Ancient Temple with magical charm and written the unique style of the ancient city of Taiyuan.
