Sichuan News, February 4 (Tang Lirong, Wei Meng) Recently, Southwest Medical University has organized a series of activities for international students to experience traditional Chinese festival culture during the winter vacation - "Calligraphy Art Experience in the Year of the Dragon", "Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience of Paper-cutting to Welcome the Spring Festival" and "Chinese Traditional Folk Customs Experience". Nearly 50 international students from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and other countries that jointly build the "Belt and Road" gathered together to truly feel the charm of the Spring Festival, share Chinese culture and welcome the Spring Festival.

The stroke of the word 'Fu' interprets the beautiful meaning of the Spring Festival. Under the careful guidance of the teachers of the School of International Education, the international students picked up the brush and carefully studied and wrote the word "Fu" one by one, feeling and understanding the beautiful meaning of the word "Fu" in China.

The unforgettable calligraphy experience enriched our university life, cultivated our appreciation of Chinese calligraphy art, and appreciated the meaning of Chinese New Year culture. Intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting is the most artistic, cultural and ideological folk art among many Spring Festival customs, which has the cultural connotation of welcoming the Spring Festival and praying for blessings and contemporary value. On the podium, the instructor kept turning the scissors and red paper in his hand to demonstrate for the international students.

A piece of colored paper shuttles through the fingertips, a pair of scissors wanders on the paper, and a vivid and interesting picture of the auspicious dragon and the spring greeting picture gradually appear ......Under the careful demonstration and guidance of the instructors, the international students were eager to try.

In the Spring Festival Paper-cutting Workshop, I learned to cut out symbols of luck, prosperity and happiness with intricate techniques. Chetana Chaudhary from Nepal said.

Chinese traditional folk customs experience, Golden Dragon New Year's "New Year's flavor".

Under the leadership of the counselor, the international students walked into the community of Baojiao Lane, Beicheng Street, Jiangyang District, tasted the steaming Laba porridge together, sewed Chinese medicine sachets with different shapes of Dragon Year patterns, learned and felt the beauty of Chinese calligraphy and painting, experienced traditional Chinese folk customs, and deeply felt the connotation and charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture.

Aliya Siraj, an international student, is celebrating the Chinese New Year in China for the first time. She said that although she misses her family and friends in a foreign country, it is also an extremely interesting experience to experience the Chinese New Year customs at school, experience the traditional Chinese festival culture, and welcome the Chinese New Year together.

Adhering to the tenet of "telling Chinese stories well and conveying Chinese voices", Southwest Medical University will hold various forms of Spring Festival activities such as sticking Spring Festival couplets, learning paper-cutting, talking about New Year's customs, making dumplings, and enjoying New Year's dinners on the occasion of the Spring Festival, so that international students can know the "New Year's customs", explore the "New Year's interest", taste the "New Year's flavor", and welcome the Chinese New Year together.
