On the evening of January 9, financial writer Wu Xiaobo brought his new book "The Biography of Moutai" and Mao Zhenhua, professor of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Hong Kong and founder of China Chengxin Group, at the Beijing Center of the University of Hong Kong.

In this New Year's Dialogue, Wu Xiaobo shared his business thoughts from his new book "The Legend of Moutai": "If you are a company related to culture and inheritance, you must slow down in the fastest era. In the future, after China's economy enters a period of adjustment, the third possibility model for enterprises to grow after Lenovo, Haier, Huawei, Alibaba, and Tencent is to return to the spirit of craftsmanship and return to a relatively slow state of coexistence with time, that is, to polish a product. He believes that maybe 10 years ago, Chinese entrepreneurs rarely believed in this thing, but in the future, maybe half of them need to believe in this thing. This is also his experience in creating "The Biography of Moutai" in the past two years.

The book "Biography of Moutai" takes stock of the major events in the development of Moutai so far and sorts out the process of enterprise growth. The book takes Moutai as the axis, looks back on the history of China's commercial and economic system reform, explores the secrets of China's leading liquor enterprises that are famous all over the world, and interprets the growth logic of China's local brand development and innovation.

Talking about the future of China's economy, Mao Zhenhua said that he is an "optimist", he said, "China's economy has experienced 40 years of rapid development, with a wealth of 700 trillion yuan and 300 billion assets of state-owned enterprises. We have the ability and confidence to get through this stage and complete the bottoming. This mission and task falls on us. He said that a truly good company is one that can go through the cycle and stand the test.

The event was co-hosted by the University of Hong Kong Beijing Center, CITIC Publishing Group, and Blue Lion.
