There is a place in China that is known as the loneliest police station in the world. It is located in a small cave in the middle of the desert, with little life for hundreds of miles, and is close to the famous "Sea of Death" Lop Nur. You may be thinking, how can a police station be needed in such a place?
This police station is called Yadan Police Station, and it is the only police station in our country built in a cave. How harsh is the environment here? It can be as hot as 60 or 70 degrees Celsius during the day and as cold as minus 25 degrees Celsius at night. More than 100 days a year are sandstorms. In such a place, birds do not want to come, let alone people.
But in such a place, 24 years ago, the state built this police station. In the beginning, the five police officers at the police station could only live in tents, light kerosene lamps at night, and have to travel 150 kilometers to drink water, eating only pickled vegetables and dry food they brought with them. When they are free, they carve out the space of the police station in the rock.
The Yadan police station has an area of 10,000 square kilometers, and the area of each patrol is 400 square kilometers. They patrol 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Here, they captured 22 fugitives and saved 26 lives.
By 2017, the police station finally had water and electricity. Although the cave has improved, the police still face the same scenery every day, patrolling day after day. They endure loneliness and loneliness, but provide security for countless tourists who are experiencing difficulties in the desert.
Salute to these amazing comrades of the police!
