On January 31, 2024, the 2nd Baiquan Traditional Food Competition has just come to an end in the Happy Courtyard of Dugong Lake, and the top ten famous dishes of Baiquan have also been officially released, namely glutinous rice balls, braised prawns, shrimp residue, roasted duck eggs with eel, stewed lotus root with Caiyu, steamed Dabaidiao, steamed cured meat, Baiquan soup, stewed skirt with fragrant meat, and herring paddling.
Today's competition is in full swing, and chefs from all walks of life show their talents and present us with a gluttonous feast. This year's food competition also invited five heavyweight judges, namely: Hu Yaowu, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Baiquan Street, Zheng Shaokui, one of the top ten Chu cuisine masters in Hubei, Yan Yun, the inheritor of Dana Beef National Folk Skills and Culture, A Shen, a senior host of Hubei Radio and Television, and Daying, a blogger of Wuhan's well-known food account "Daying Eats Wuhan".

Since then, braised prawns have been hailed as a "royal dish" and have spread throughout the country.

Roasted duck eggs with eel are a specialty dish of Baiquan. The dish "Stewed Lotus Root" originated in Caidian, Hubei, and is said to be a fisherman's dish that was "freshly made" from a previous lotus root digging boss to retain the lotus root digging experts in other places.
