On the occasion of the Jiachen Lantern Festival, the "South of Caiyun" 2024 9th "Spring Cup" Chess Open Tournament in Xishan District, Kunming City was grandly held in the report hall of the Fuhai Street Office in Xishan District, on the shore of Dianchi Lake with four seasons of flowers and thousands of gulls!

The opening ceremony kicked off with the solemn "National Anthem", and then Li Decheng, president of the Xishan District Chess Association, delivered an opening speech. After the referees and athlete representatives took the oath respectively, Peng Ya, deputy director of the Yunnan Provincial Chess and Card Management Center, announced the start of the game. Subsequently, Ms. Zhang Wentong, the chief referee of this cup and a national chess master from Yunnan, organized the competition in an orderly manner.
It is reported that the "Spring Festival Cup" Chess Open Tournament is a traditional event in Xishan District, and has been known as one of the top ten non-governmental brand events in the country.
The competition attracted 122 people from the open group (including women) from nine provinces, regions (cities) including Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Zhejiang, Heilongjiang, Hunan, Liaoning, Chongqing, and Yunnan; A total of 177 people from 55 people in the children's group (men and women) signed up for the competition, and successively entered the open group (11 rounds) and the children's group (9 rounds) of the point arrangement system.
The tournament will be held in two days to determine all the rankings in each group.
