I don't know when, the Vietnamese bride became a good object in people's mouths.

Gentleness and virtue, hard work, no bride price and other characteristics seem to satisfy all people's fantasies about wives, and for a time it became popular to find a Vietnamese daughter-in-law.

In 2011, the Guangxi Public Security Bureau released a set of data showing that more than 40,000 undocumented Vietnamese brides were found in Guangxi province alone, while the number of Vietnamese brides in other provinces was conservatively estimated at 6More than 50,000, which means that the number of Vietnamese brides in the country alone exceeded 100,000.

In border areas such as Guangxi, you can even see advertisements on telephone poles.

3 months to marry home (6 days to complete the round trip)".

As long as 200,000".

Guarantee that ** will lose one person within one year".

All kinds of attractive advertising slogans make the hearts of interested parties excited.

If you can't believe this kind of street advertising, then a professional marriage such as Vietnam (vietnamcupid**) will serve you.

In the mouths of the staff, words such as well-behaved and obedient are the adjectives that appear the most.

We will charge 3,000 yuan to arrange a date in Ho Chi Minh City, and if the two decide to get married, we will charge an additional 36,000 yuan to arrange the wedding, including wedding photos. If the woman files for divorce or runs away within two months, we will be responsible for finding the next partner. ”

Under the assurance of the staff patting her chest, it seems that you can imagine that a beautiful and considerate and gentle Vietnamese bride is smiling at the bedside, but is this marriage really so easy to tie up?

Runaway bride. A woman chartered a taxi to Shitai to pick up my son's Vietnamese wife! ”

On the evening of December 7, 2015, the Renli Police Station of the Shitai County Public Security Bureau in Anhui Province received a panicked alarm**.

Li Laohan, a native of Shitai, cried and wailed at the end of the **, and cried out to his son.

He really couldn't understand how his daughter-in-law, who bought it for 100,000 yuan, dared to run, and whether there was any reason in this world.

* Although Zeng Fanwang, the policeman on the other end, frowned when he heard this, he still comforted the old man with kind words and asked the old man to explain the location of the accident.

After the crying old man explained clearly, Zeng Fanwang beckoned his colleagues and rushed to Li Laohan's house.

As soon as he arrived at the old man's house, Zeng Fanwang saw that the old man's son Xiao Li was not in a state of conversation with a woman, and hurriedly went over to dissuade him.

As soon as the police came, the two sides of the dispute quarreled even more.

Although Xiao Li let go of the hand that was holding the woman's clothes tightly, as soon as he let go, he raised it excitedly, and scolded the other party for being a ** and a bastard.

The women on the other side were also angry, with tears in their eyes, and although they were muttering in an incomprehensible language, they were greatly wronged when they heard that tone.

Zeng Fanwang and his colleagues spent a lot of effort to calm down the emotions of the two, and then the police car whined, and the group of several people all returned to the police station.

When he arrived at the police station, Zeng Fanwang and the other policemen separated to appease him, and asked carefully, so that he understood why the dispute was.

In Xiao Li's opinion, he was simply wronged.

I only brought my daughter-in-law back from Vietnam two days ago, but when I was about to get married, the other party turned his face and didn't recognize anyone, and today I was going to leave directly in the taxi I had made an appointment, and I didn't think of myself as a person.

Xiao Li said that if he hadn't smashed the car and scared the taxi driver away tonight, the daughter-in-law, who had spent 100,000 yuan before and after, would have run away.

And a Vietnamese woman named Hoang Thi Yen is also aggrieved.

With the help of a translator, she poured out her bitterness to **.

It turned out that she had only known Xiao Li for half a month, and she had been living in Tan Phuoc Hung She, Phong Xie City, Houjiang Province, Vietnam, and met Xiao Li who came to Vietnam for tourism in November.

Although Xiao Li's trip to Vietnam is a trip, it is actually to choose a daughter-in-law under the banner of sightseeing.

Under the introduction of Vietnam's professional "adoptive mother", the two quickly got engaged, and then returned to China together in December.

But a few days after being away from home, Huang Shiyan felt that the words of the "adoptive mother" before were all lies, how could there be a truth that marrying is a blessing, this so-called husband not only does not understand his language, but is also inconsiderate.

Thinking about it like this, Huang Shiyan felt that the Li family was not good, so she first spit out the bitter water to Huang Minjing, a Vietnamese bride who was also in a foreign land.

Relying on WeChat, a Vietnamese bride who first arrived in Anhui and married far away from Zhejiang connected her heart.

Huang Mingjing has been married to her husband Xiao Wu for 4 months in Longyou County, Zhejiang, but these 4 months have been completely hell for her.

The empathetic two chatted more and more, and when Huang Mingjing proposed to flee back to China together, Huang Shiyan agreed without thinking about it.

On December 7, when the two met, a taxi hired by Huang Mingjing came to Li's door, and the dispute began.

After spitting out the bitter water, Huang Shiyan was still angry, and bluntly said that he did not want to marry Xiao Li, even if he killed himself, he did not want to return to the Li family.

Xiao Li is also very angry here, he has 90,000 cash for the "adoptive mother" alone, and 5,000 for the round-trip expenses, and he also gave Huang Shiyan's family a bride price when he was in Vietnam.

Seeing this situation, Zeng Fanwang was also one and two big, but he suddenly found that Huang Shiyan was not the only bride who was going to run away today.

After cross-provincial contact, Huang Minjing, who had already embarked on the road of escaping marriage, was intercepted, and at the same time, Zeng Fanwang also found Ji, the common "adoptive mother" of the runaway bride.

Then Ji and Huang Minjing and her husband Xiao Wu came to Anhui together, and under the mediation of Zeng Fanwang and other police, Ji returned the introduction fee of Xiao Li and Xiao Wu, and the two also promised to return the two brides a freedom.

At 11 o'clock in the evening of December 8, Ji took Huang Shiyan and Huang Minjing on the journey home, and the dispute across the two provinces came to an end.

Regarding this case, Zeng Fanwang was helpless, he said: "There are many risks in foreign-related marriages that are brokered through marriage intermediaries, and we should be vigilant. ”

And stories like Huang's Lake are not unique.

Border wailing. On May 13, 2014, the Houqiao Police Station of the Wuxi Xishan Public Security Bureau received a police report**, but this time it was the bride herself who called**.

This 17-year-old girl, named Huang Shihu, is different from Huang Shiyan and other brides who married willingly, she was abducted to China.

When the police arrived at the Houqiao Dachengyuan Community, Wu, who was suspected of imprisoning Huang's Lake, was immediately frightened and confessed all the facts of the crime.

It turned out that the person who abducted Huang's Lake was Wu's co-worker.

In February 2014, Wu, who had never found his daughter-in-law, always had a sad face, and this performance was seen by Xiong, a native of Yunnan.

After some temptation, Xiong offered to find him a Vietnamese daughter-in-law, but Wu had to give him some introduction fees.

Wu, who has been a bachelor all his life, was immediately tempted, although he has no culture, but the Vietnamese daughter-in-law's considerate and gentle style that doesn't cost much money, he has heard of it.

After several bargains, Wu cut the bride's ** to 860,000, and then went to Yunnan with Xiong to choose a wife.

In Wenshan County, Yunnan, Wu picked Huang's Lake that was abducted and trafficked, and then handed over the money with one hand and the "goods" with the other, and returned to Xuancheng, Anhui Province with Huang's Lake.

But this marriage is far from being as good as Wu thought, this daughter-in-law is completely different from the appearance in the publicity, not only is she disobedient, but she has always wanted to run away, and it didn't take long for Wu to not want this daughter-in-law.

But it took half of his life savings to buy Huang's Lake, so he naturally refused to go for it casually, so he started the idea of reselling.

Xiong took over the business, but Wu has been reluctant to let go because the price has fallen too much.

On May 8, 2014, Wu took Huangshi Lake to Wuxi Xishan to look for a seller, but this trip went wrong, allowing Huangshi Lake to escape, which attracted the attention of the police.

After the case, the abduction and trafficking case was classified by the Ministry of Public Security as a case supervised by the ministry, and with the efforts of the Wuxi ** task force, the suspect Xiong and Ma behind him were arrested, and a transnational criminal gang of abducting and trafficking foreign women was destroyed.

This kind of cross-border trafficking case is not uncommon for Zheng Junyi, as the head of the criminal investigation team of the Kunming Railway Public Security Department, he has to ask the abducted women almost every day, "Are you a ** person?" ”

On the Kunming Railway, many Vietnamese were smuggled into the country through the border roads, and then scattered from Kunming.

Zheng Junyi said that this kind of gang has a clear division of labor and is highly organized, and many Vietnamese women are deceived into China by their fellow villagers under the banner of tourism and work, and then handed over to domestic gangs to be imprisoned and sold.

Over the years, Zheng Junyi has summarized several characteristics of these cases, the first of which is that the buying and selling methods are extremely hidden.

Although it was those advertisements that let the Chinese people know about the Vietnamese bride, they did not rely on advertisements but acquaintances to introduce them when they really wanted to buy them, which further enhanced the secrecy of illegal trafficking.

At the same time, because these Vietnamese brides are often born in rural areas, have a low level of education, generally do not understand Chinese, and do not have passports, once they smuggle into our country with their fellow villagers, they will completely become meat on the chopping block, even if they are lucky to escape, the Vietnamese brides who are not familiar with life will be quickly arrested, and they will be greeted with more cruel violence.

This kind of gang also has obvious characteristics, generally speaking, the leader will have repeated cross-provincial activities in a short period of time, and often with five or six women, and they are all short, dark, and not much talking women, if you check carefully, you will find that the ID card used to buy the ticket is all fraudulent.

In January 2018, Zheng Junyi and other Kunming** cracked a cross-border trafficking case again, brought 78 suspects to justice, and rescued 33 Vietnamese women.

This case, which took nearly 300 days and involved more than 100 police officers, was very hard, and Zheng Junyi and other police officers often had to stay away from their hometowns and go to Zhejiang, Hunan, Shandong, Jiangxi, and other provinces in order to handle the case.

When asked by a reporter about the difficulty of the investigation, Zheng Junyi bluntly said that the people involved in the case are all people who are familiar with the border and lick blood, and their anti-investigation ability is extremely strong, and it is very difficult to catch them.

Because of the inconvenient transportation near the border, many routes are difficult to block, giving the suspect an opportunity, once they just saw the suspect as soon as they went up the mountain, the other party immediately fled, and when the police arrived, the suspect's bed was warm, but it was this small distance, they could not cross it many times.

Another person involved in the case was arrested in June last year, but the other party relied on the familiar terrain to escape again and again, and it was not until August that he caught someone in a market.

Talking about these traffickers, Zheng Junyi said that half of these people are local farmers in Vietnam, although they know that this is illegal, they do not hesitate to deceive their fellow villagers for high profits, and take risks.

Zheng Junyi pointed out that these people are almost the same as the people who abducted and sold babies back then, but because babies are prone to getting sick during long journeys, it is more convenient to stealthily abduct Vietnamese brides.

When the reporter asked why such an industrial chain appeared, Zheng Junyi sighed.

In the course of the investigation, it was found that for Vietnamese brides, there is a large domestic 'market demand', and in some areas this phenomenon is very common, and even a trend has formed, which is actually encouraging this illegal trade. ”

Born into a poor family. The problem of the ratio of men and women has always been a common problem that has plagued China and Vietnam, and the only difference is that China is troubled by too many men, while Vietnam is troubled by women who do not have a good husband.

Due to the perennial turmoil, the ratio of women to men in Vietnam has always been out of balance, and even in 2014, the proportion of women in Vietnam was still nearly 3 percentage points higher than that of men.

At the same time, because of the war factor, the image of men in Vietnam is mostly the fortitude required to join the battlefield, and the important but neglected family can only be taken up by women, which has formed the local custom of men and women, and also gives foreigners the impression of Vietnamese women being industrious and considerate.

Although this impression satisfies some people's fantasies, it is undoubtedly oppressive for Vietnamese women.

Although Vietnamese women dare not speak out, when the door to the new world opens, they yearn for China.

Even from the perspective of China's most unsightly per capita data, China's per capita GDP in 2016 is four times that of Vietnam, and the difference in real living conditions is even more unreasonable.

In the case that it is difficult to find a husband in their home country and the living conditions are not good, marrying far away from China has become the choice of some Vietnamese women.

Linqi in Henan Province used to be known as one of the poorest places in China, but their townspeople started doing business with Vietnam.

Nguyen Thi Thanh is a Vietnamese bride with more than 20 villagers in the town of Linqi.

Since arriving in Linqi, she has worked hard to learn Chinese in a small shop in the town, selling coke and cigarettes to customers.

Her house was just a whiteboard room with bare concrete, and she had to go outside to go to the bathroom, but she felt happy because her living conditions were much better than before.

In Vietnam, we live in poor quality brick houses and have to work hard in the rice fields every day. ”

Under the arrangement of her parents, 30-year-old Nguyen Thi Lady married a 22-year-old young man in Linqi Town, and she told reporters that she was happy.

I knew they gave my parents a sum of money, but I didn't dare ask. My relatives told me that I wanted to marry a Chinese man, and they cared about his wife, and I didn't have to work hard, just enjoy life. ”

It is very difficult to marry a daughter-in-law in Linqi, and Wang Yangfang, the owner of the commissary, said, "To get married, the man's family must have a car and a house, and only a rich man can get married." And in Vietnam, the money required is much less. ”

When it comes to Vietnamese daughters-in-law, Linqi residents are very familiar with it, and one resident said that buying a Vietnamese daughter-in-law costs more than 20,000 yuan, which is three-quarters less than the cost of marrying a daughter-in-law locally.

The town's 21-year-old bride, Takeshi Hongshui, said she was satisfied with the marriage; "We met and fell in love, and then we got married, and in Vietnam, women have to work very hard, but they don't earn much, but now it's okay, as long as the husband works. ”

But this kind of happiness cannot fall on all Vietnamese brides, so there have been Runaway brides such as Hoang Thi Yan in many places.

In 2012 alone, 1,281 trafficked brides were rescued and repatriated.

A driver who knows this well said that many brides will try to escape when they come to other places, but the places where they buy wives and have children are mostly in the mountains, and the man's family in the mountains will not give the bride any chance at all.

If you get lost, the man's relatives will contact each other to bring the escapee back. ”

The plight of Vietnamese brides is not only trafficked, but also deceived by poor families who sometimes choose to "marry in return" out of their own volition.

Some of the bride buyers are borrowing money to buy wives, and when they buy their Vietnamese daughters-in-law into their homes, they not only make them work hard, but some even force their brides to become prostitutes for their own benefit.

And this kind of purchase-based marriage is also destined to the unequal status of the couple in the family relationship, Vietnamese brides have also been prevalent in South Korea, but in the survey, more than 42% of brides have suffered domestic violence, 68% have met in marriage**.

In 2010, Cambodia, which also "exports" brides, introduced a policy to prohibit marriage between Koreans and Koreans, considering the harm caused to the people.

But Vietnam's way of dealing with it is to impose a fine, and a fine of only 10 million to 20 million VND (about 2,900 to 5,800 yuan) is enough to legally bury the happiness of a Vietnamese bride.

It can be said that ** connived at the occurrence of trafficking crimes to a certain extent.

According to official figures released in Vietnam alone, between 2010 and June 2021, there were 3,500 cases of abduction and trafficking in Vietnam, with more than 7,500 people victimized.

It may be tempting to have a small advertisement on the street with words such as "**gentle", but every Vietnamese bride who comes to China because of this has an identity other than that of a bride: a person who should be free, a daughter who is held in the heart of her parents, and a future mother.
