Gao Yu was indeed born in the market, and some people say that he once worked as a small official of Su Shi's family, but it is not seen in the official history; By chance, he met Zhao Ji, who was still the king of Duan at the time, and was cited as a confidant because he had a "common language" in eating, drinking and having fun. Later, Zhezong had no queen, and King Duan ascended the throne, because he did not have his own "political team", so even Gao Yu's "helper" was entrusted with important tasks.

Of course, these guys are all villains, traitors, and great evils to the country. But don't simply think that "the villain party is not a group", the traitorous ministers must "contact and have relatives, all losses will be lost, all glory will be honored, support and cover, and all will be taken care of", in fact, traitors also fall against each other, and sometimes even do not share the sky.
When Song Huizong "gave way" to his son Qinzong, and he hurriedly escaped from Tokyo in the name of "entering incense", Gao Yu, Tong Guan and others also fled and joined Song Huizong. When they arrived in Sizhou, the contradiction between the two intensified, probably because Song Huizong did not give Gao Yu the master, so that Gao Yu broke away from the "incense" team and returned to Kaifeng. Song Qinzong has been watching coldly for many years, and of course he will not accept this goods. As a result, Gao Yu "fell out of favor".
In fact, Gao Yu's fall from grace was not sudden. Compared with Cai Jing, Tong Guan, Wang Hao, Liang Shicheng, Zhu Mian, Li Bangyan and other old fritters, Gao Yu, an officialdom nouveau riche, always seems a little tender. On October 27, the seventh year of Xuanhe (1125, the year before Jingkang), Chen Dong, a student of Tai, wrote a letter to Cai Jing, Tong Guan, Wang Hao, Liang Shicheng, Zhu Mian, Li Bangyan, etc"Six thieves"to thank the world. This letter caused a violent reaction from the government and the public, because the "six thieves" were the traitors with the most prominent official reputation and the greatest public resentment.
And Gao Yu, the big villain in "Water Margin", who is bound to repay him, was lucky to escape Chen Dong's verbal criticism.
