Work first, content is king. Lin Lan believes that a certain number of masterpieces can build everyone. The painting depicts four unique flowers and fruits of the Lingnan region, namely kapok, frangipani, plantain and lychee, presenting a rich and vibrant southern atmosphere, with the interest of traditional flowers and birds and the sense of composition of modern painting.

In Lin Lan's view, sketching is the cornerstone of the Lingnan School. The "sheng" written by Lingnan painters is different from the "real" depiction of the Central Plains as the political center, and the "meaning" of many literati in the Jiangnan region, which is an important cultural town. She believes that no matter in terms of creative consciousness or picture style, the "life" of Lingnan painters focuses on the "life" of life, and writes about the real living "life" that can be seen and intuitive.
Three begets all things, "Tao Te Ching" has clouds, one life is two, two begets three, and three begets all things. 'Three' has three horizontals, representing the harmony and unity of heaven, earth and man. This is the red fruit and green flowers in Lin Lan's pen, a lively scene of Lingnan spring, which is also the folk characteristics of Lingnan culture in her mind. When artists paint flowers and birds, they not only depict Lingnan flowers and birds, exotic flowers and plants, but also praise the culture and life of the water and soil.
Lin Lan believes that the Lingnan School of painting inherits the spiritual core and temperament; The new generation of painters should be more unrestrained and innovative, and face the world with fresher and more inclusive vitality and atmosphere. To create a "Millions of Projects" of Guangdong art
It is understood that with the incubation and cultivation project of "masterpieces" as the starting point, Guangdong has organized and implemented the "Reform and Opening-up Practice Theme Art Creation Project" in recent years. This is a large-scale key art creation project launched by the Propaganda Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, bringing together hundreds of famous artists from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Guangdong Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Sculpture Institute and 21 prefecture-level city art associations, bringing together Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor, lacquer painting and other professional categories, jointly incubating 100 masterpieces that highlight the Chinese spirit, the atmosphere of the times, and the charm of Lingnan, and evaluating and collecting excellent works, enriching the collection of the new Guangdong Museum of Art in Baietan's Dawan District Art Center." The project will conclude in December 2023, and Lin Lan hopes that there will be multiple phases of rolling in the future, so as to produce 1,000 works of Lingnan Contemporary Art.
Lin Lan said that the so-called "masterpieces" are not just one or two. Only one or two pieces are called "surprises", that is called "talent", and those who can really write their artistic character for a lifetime have weight, quality and quantity accumulation, we can call it "everyone".

Lin Lan believes that Guangdong's successful bid for the National Exhibition is based on sufficient conditions and advantages: profound art and cultural accumulation, vigorous development trend and excellent exhibition conditions, the last session won the first place in the number of selected works in one fell swoop, and it is the only province that has hosted the exhibition area from the 1st to the 13th consecutive sessions, and the scale of cultural venues ranks among the top in the country.
