Fuzhou, 21 Feb (Xinhua) -- The Red Cross Society of Quanzhou City sent personnel to pick up two survivors of the fishing boat incident from Kinmen on 20 February. A surviving crew member surnamed Xu complained: "Taiwanese fishermen come to our side, and we treat them very well." (Taiwan's Coast Guard) is so cruel to us! ”
At about 5 o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, the "Peace Nova" arrived at Xiamen Wutong Wharf. The reporter saw at Wutong Wharf that the two survivors walked out of the cabin accompanied by the staff of the Quanzhou Red Cross Society, and went through the relevant customs clearance procedures under the guidance of the staff.
In the early morning of the 21st, the crew surnamed Xu still had palpitations when recalling the incident they had experienced on the afternoon of the 14th.
At about 12:30 p.m. that day, we saw a boat coming from Taiwan, so we turned around and left. We stopped the ship at the request of the Taiwanese side. However, when the Taiwanese ship approached us, it directly collided with us and overturned our ship. The crew surnamed Xu said.
We went to sea to earn a living, but we didn't expect the money to be so hard to make that we almost lost our lives. There are also two shipmates who go out and can't come back. They (the Taiwan Coast Guard) are too brutal! The crew surnamed Xu said silently.
On the afternoon of the 14th, a fishing boat in Fujian was violently chased and rammed by a Taiwan coast guard boat in the waters off Kinmen, resulting in all four people on board falling into the sea, two of whom were killed. On the morning of the 20th, the Quanzhou Red Cross Society and others sent people to accompany the families of the six crew members to Kinmen to deal with the aftermath and pick up the survivors.
I would like to thank the mainland for its efforts and for doing everything possible to bring us back from Taiwan. We're home! The crew surnamed Xu said.
