Brazzaville, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Congolese Foreign Minister Jean-Claude Gakoso said on February 23 that Congo is willing to work with China to consolidate traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and continuously inject new impetus into the development of bilateral relations.

On the same day, a reception to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Congo was held in Brazzaville. At the reception, Gakoso said that Congolese-Chinese relations have flourished over the past 60 years. A few days ago, the two heads of state exchanged congratulatory messages on the 60 th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Congo and China, reflecting the profound friendship between the two heads of state. The Congolese side reaffirmed its adherence to the one-China principle, mutual trust between the two countries, sharing weal and woe, and cooperation in various fields to bring benefits to the people.

Li Yan, Chinese Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville), said in his speech that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 60 years ago, China and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have always stood together through thick and thin, sharing weal and woe, setting an example for China-Africa friendship and cooperation. Standing at a new historical starting point, the two sides should earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continue to be a force for fairness and justice, a confidant of like-minded people, a partner for win-win cooperation, and an example of exchanges and mutual learning, consolidate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and make greater contributions to building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future and a community with a shared future for mankind.

About 600 people from all walks of life in China and Congo attended the reception, and Li Yan presented a commemorative photo of his first visit to China 60 years ago to Sasou, who attended the event.
