At 9 o'clock on February 8, the world's largest methanol bunkering ship "Harbor Zhiyuan" slowly docked the world's first large methanol-powered container ship "Anne Maersk" at Yangshan Phase III Wharf.
With the official launch of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) MEPC 80th meeting and the entry into force of the EU carbon tax policy, the shipping industry continues to accelerate the energy transition, with alternative fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), methanol, liquid ammonia, hydrogen and biofuels competing to be unveiled. Major shipping companies have begun to order LNG power, methanol power and other ships in batches to form green shipping fleets, and major ports around the world have established supporting energy supply industry chains and first-class chains for such ships.
In order to meet the energy supply needs of mainstream green-powered ships and empower the construction of an international shipping center, the Port of Shanghai has made new attempts to expand the application of new energy in the port and improve the layout of low-carbon facilities. At Yangshan Port, Shenergy Group expanded the storage tank of Yangshan LNG receiving station; SIPG set up an energy service enterprise, introduced LNG bunkering ships and methanol bunkering ships, and renovated the methanol storage tank in Yangshan Shengang; Shengdong, Guandong, Shangdong and other terminal operators have increased the construction of shore-based power supply facilities, formed a variety of green energy "storage, transmission and supply" chains, and gradually formed a variety of new fuel ship bunkering service business systems to further meet the green energy needs of international ships during the voyage and during the port.
In order to ensure the smooth progress of the exercise, the operation of Yangshan Phase III wharf actively coordinated with the shipping company, took the initiative to follow up the navigation dynamics of the "Anne Maersk", reasonably arranged the berthing plan, and controlled the operation volume in the restricted area. At the same time, a special meeting was held to do a good job in relevant education and training according to the characteristics of methanol fuel, formulate a list of risk prevention and control measures, clarify the restrictions and control requirements in restricted areas and warning areas, and ensure that risk control measures are in place.
In order to help the construction of a new fuel supply system at the port, the port inspection authorities have also taken corresponding safeguard measures. According to the introduction of Yangshan Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, the station pays close attention to the decarbonization process of the shipping industry, and establishes a complete set of safeguard measures such as ship customs clearance, ship berthing, and engineering testers getting on and off the outer ship according to the needs of different types of ship fuel supply, so as to promote the docking of energy demanders and energy suppliers. Yang Yongxiang, head of the border inspection department of the station, said: "At present, the combination of efficient berthing and effective supervision of foreign ships is mainly achieved through the combination of issuing long-term berthing permits for energy supply ships and reporting for a single berth. ”
