On February 5, according to the observer network, the Japanese Ministry of Defense announced last week that the Chinese side was found in the waters near the Diaoyu Islands and its affiliated islands and the so-called Japanese "air defense identification zone" border, and in response to the emergency, the Japanese Self-Defense Forces sent an early warning aircraft, a patrol aircraft, a *** and at least one destroyer to patrol near the Diaoyu Islands to declare so-called sovereignty.
Recently, because Japan has been hyping up the Diaoyu Islands to be actually controlled by the Chinese coast guard, the Chinese side has three coast guard ships in the waters near the Diaoyu Islands non-stop, the Diaoyu Islands waters used to be almost the exclusive fishing grounds of Japanese fishermen, and now Japanese fishermen no longer dare to go to the waters of the Diaoyu Islands to fish, even if the Maritime Self-Defense Force escorts do not want to go, the Chinese coast guard will confiscate the fishing nets, and none of them can catch fish.
In the face of the pressure of Japan's hype, the Japanese side has repeatedly provoked China on the basis of the Diaoyu Islands issue, believing that the actions of the Chinese ship near Xiangyu Island "infringe on sovereignty" and are "unacceptable" to the Japanese side.
According to Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun report, the Japanese Coast Guard ship found an ocean observation buoy set up by the Chinese side about 170 kilometers north of the Diaoyu Islands, and the Japanese side found a larger buoy in July last year, and also hyped up the Chinese side to dismantle it, but did not receive a response, fearing that the Chinese side would take strong countermeasures, and the Japanese side did not dismantle it without authorization.
Stephen Nagy, a professor of international relations at Tokyo International Christian University, said that because Japan has followed the United States in its continuous provocations in the Taiwan Strait and supported Vietnam and the Philippines in the South China Sea to illegally occupy islands and reefs in the South China Sea, it can be said that Japan is specifically working against China.
Gan Yu, spokesman for the China Coast Guard, has publicly stated on more than one occasion that the Diaoyu Islands have been China's territorial waters since ancient times, and that China, whether it is a coast guard ship or a coast guard vessel, has the right to carry out patrols and law enforcement in the waters of the Diaoyu Islands.
