Each one is unique in their own way"Dream House"They are presented in different styles, including American, French, Japanese, vintage, modern, pastoral, and many more. Whatever style you choose, functionality is the most essential element. Professional design can be close to our lives or even improve our lives, making the home both practical and beautiful, and nourishing our body and mind.

The project we are going to renovate today is the residence of a couple born in the 90s. They liked the warm and bright Japanese style and bought a small two-bedroom house with an area of 53 in the capital. Despite their small size, they are looking forward to a new life.

The actual situation before the renovation was like this:

The house is newly renovated and ready to move in with just the purchase of furniture. However, the gray marble walls, square wood veneer, and various hard lines on the ceiling and doors give the impression of a gorgeous and cold hotel suite, which is completely out of the owner's imagination of an ideal home.

In addition, they are not too happy with the layout of their home. Therefore, they decided to redesign and remodel.

The original floor plan is as follows:

The focus of the renovation is to re-plan the layout, which is the first and most important step that determines the improvement of the occupant experience. The key to this step is to gain an in-depth understanding of the homeowner's habits.

Renovation points:

1. Rearrange the master bedroom and living room, remove the partition wall, swap positions, and move the wall to the right by 45 cm to expand the area of the living room.

2. Transform the kitchen into an open plan, increase the operating space and storage space, and create a more interactive LDK-style bright common area.

3. Use the bathroom area of the master bedroom to build a small walk-in closet.

4. The second bedroom adopts the design of staggered bunk bed, instead of the traditional bunk bed, which can not only provide double rest and storage space, but also provide a more comfortable experience.

5. Re-plan the bathroom, reasonably arrange the location of the toilet, bathroom cabinet and shower, increase the storage space, and realize the separation of dry and wet, so as to improve the quality of life.

The renovated entrance

The recess of the wall to the left of the entrance door was retained, and a set of built-in colonnade entryway cabinets were customized. In the middle of the cabinet are wood-coloured drawers for small and scattered items, while three cabinets are large enough for the family's daily shoes.

The living room looks out onto the entrance and hallway.

The original house type does not have the concept of an entrance, and the door is the living room. After the renovation, a row of housekeeping areas was created on the side of the hallway using part of the bathroom and master bedroom.

At the end of the entrance corridor, an end view is set up, and in order to avoid affecting the lighting of the entrance area, the end of the glass brick is used as a partition to prevent people outside the door from seeing the interior. At the same time, the crystal texture of the glass bricks also adds to the beauty.

Housekeeping cabinets are used to store cleaning supplies such as vacuum cleaners. After determining the model of the washing machine and refrigerator during the hydropower construction stage, it is necessary to determine the socket, water and water position here to avoid the improper use of the electrical appliance due to the deviation of the socket position.

A glass-door display case is designed on one side of the view, leaving a special display space for the hostess to display her beloved dolls.

Kitchen

Walk through the hallway and into a spacious and bright public space. The renovated kitchen is integrated with the dining room and living room, realizing an open LDK integrated design.

In order to avoid the small space looking oppressive, the designer minimized the height of the ceiling, and the kitchen adopted a semi-circular arc ceiling, which is beautiful in shape, and at the same time hides various lines, which will not be too complicated to affect the visual sense of height.

The kitchen has a "U" shape for maximum efficiency, with more access and storage space than before when opened, and can also accommodate a dishwasher, leaving your hands free.

The island separates the kitchen and dining room, with a sink and a dining table next to the island, so you can wash fruit from one side of the table without going around the kitchen.

The classic combination of white and light wood makes this pyrotechnic space look bright and welcoming. The wall tiles were paved with small white square tiles, and black seams added visual changes.

Restaurant

The elegant sideboard extends into an "L" shape and is cleverly arranged along the wall for added functionality. The upper part of the sideboard is divided into upper and lower sections, with the upper part for books and doors to reduce dust, and the lower part for storing common items in the dining area.

*The dining table is adjacent to the island and kitchen, so it's a great place to sit and read, and it's also convenient to warm up your stomach with afternoon tea.

In order not to hinder the walking and use of one side of the sideboard, a bench-style dining chair was chosen, which can be easily stowed away under the table when not in use.

Living room

Looking out from the kitchen to the dining room and living room, although these three functional areas overlap, they retain their independent functions, and the flow of the whole space is very smooth.

The suspended ceiling extends from the top of the kitchen to the window, visually emphasizing the overall sense of the entire functional area, making the space more harmonious and cohesive.

Furniture such as dining tables, dining chairs, sofas, TV cabinets, etc., are all designed to be mobile, which is both functional and small, and can be flexibly moved as needed.

Most of the furniture is made of cherry wood, which the owner likes, and the walls are in warm milk coffee tones, and the sunlight shines softly through the beige gauze curtains, which sets off the serene retro style of the cherry wood furniture, and the embellishments of greenery add to the vibrant atmosphere and make the mood more pleasant.

Master bedroom

This space, which was originally a living room, has larger windows and good lighting, making it spacious and very comfortable to live in.

There is no traditional decorative painting at the head of the bed, but a combination of milk coffee color background board and hidden light strip is used, so that the whole large white wall is no longer monotonous, and the longitudinal stripes of the background board also add a three-dimensional sense of space.

Taking advantage of the space in the original dining room and bathroom, the master bedroom "steals" a walk-in closet, and the doorway features an elegant arched design to enhance the visual effect.

Although the interior of the cloakroom is small, it is fully utilized, and the corner has a door for easy access to clothes. The entire cloakroom is large enough for two people's clothing.

At the foot of the bed, a dresser in cherry wood replaces the bedside table, and on one side there is a set of corner cabinets for small items commonly used in the bedroom. The wooden hanger next to it is used to hang the secondary clothes, which is very convenient for storing pajamas.

Second bedroom

The second bedroom is located on the side of the entryway cabinet, and when you open the door, you will see a warm and layered space.

On the left-hand side is placed a unique bunk bed, which is designed for the owner's family, the two beds are connected together but independent, when the baby is born in the future, the old man comes back to help take care of it, the top can be used as a crib, and the bottom is the rest area for the elderly. A wall lamp above the bedside table provides illumination and reading convenience for each bed.

A small table and a bookshelf are placed in the open space at the foot of the bed, which can be used as an area for study or work, while also providing additional storage space.

The windows in the room have a combination of blinds and curtains that allow for light and privacy to be adjusted as needed.

The light blue and white color scheme for the walls and bedside tables gives it a fresh, relaxed feel. Pastel colours have also been chosen for the bedding to create a pleasant sleeping atmosphere.

Bathroom

The layout of the original restroom did have some problems, but the renovated restroom was properly planned and the use of space was optimized.

Upon entering, the bathroom cabinet becomes the first area that catches the eye. Not only does this custom-made bathroom cabinet provide ample storage space, but it also extends into an open, narrow cabinet for easy placement or removal of commonly used hygiene products. This design makes it easier and faster for users to go to the toilet.

The toilet was moved next to the bathroom cabinet, which made a more reasonable layout. A set of thin cabinets is embedded above the toilet bowl, providing additional storage space for items such as hygiene products. This design makes full use of wall space and increases storage capacity.

The shower room has also been remodeled, from the original diamond type to a larger size of 900*1200. This renovation makes the shower space more spacious and comfortable, and the user experience has been improved.

At the same time, the design of the shower room also takes into account the water flow control and waterproof function, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the bathroom.
