Yan Degang, 42, has experienced 18 Spring Festivals and will spend Chinese New Year's Eve on the train for the 13th time this year. He roughly counted that at the end of the year, he only spends about 160 days at home. On Chinese New Year's Eve, Yan De would call his wife after he was busy with work. Others' Chinese New Year's Eve is to sit with their loved ones for a reunion dinner, but he expresses his longing to his family with the simplest greetings.
If I can't accompany my family for the New Year, I will definitely be homesick and feel guilty. Especially during the Spring Festival when my daughter was one year old, my wife was bedridden with a fever, but I couldn't take care of them by their side. Yan Degang said that in the face of the aggrieved messages sent by his wife, he was full of guilt and did not know how to reply. To this day, the appearance of his wife's illness at that time is still deeply in his mind.
Yan Degang's daughter is 10 years old. Because of work, from the time his daughter went to kindergarten to primary school, Yan Degang only attended one parent-teacher meeting. Every time he helps passengers take care of their children on the train, he always thinks of his daughter. "My daughter is very sensible, every time I am not at home during the Spring Festival, she will call me **, counting how many days I have been gone, and she can remember it better than her mother.
