Although the veterans laughed at Zheng Chaoyuan on the battlefield, they still gave a lot of care, Zheng Chaoyuan himself was also very neat, in his spare time, he practiced marksmanship hard, and was always the first to sign up every time he performed a task, that is, in the tempering of blood and fire, Zheng Chaoyuan gradually grew up, and the veterans around him no longer dared to laugh at him as a "recruit egg", in the 3 years of entering the dynasty, Zheng Chaoyuan alone participated in more than 200 battles, annihilating countless enemies, even he himself could not count.
More importantly, in the last battle to resist US aggression and aid Korea, the Battle of Jincheng, Zheng Chaoyuan's squad annihilated more than 200 enemies, and he alone annihilated 122 enemies.
In July 1953, after the Battle of Jincheng began, Zheng Chaoyuan, as the deputy squad leader, led the whole squad to follow the whole company to intersperse Baiyan Mountain and 1118 Heights to block the enemy's attack.
After Zheng Chaoyuan commanded the whole squad to blow up the crossfire point composed of the enemy's pillboxes, he realized that this place was likely to be counterattacked by the enemy, so he urgently built fortifications, and sure enough, in the later battle, Zheng Chaoyuan's squad encountered the attack of two companies of the enemy, Zheng Chaoyuan commanded the troops to respond calmly and defeated countless enemies, but most of the soldiers were also seriously wounded, and more importantly, the enemy realized the resistance of our army in this area, and no longer charged, but switched to bombarding our positions with artillery.
After the bombing, the enemy launched a fierce attack again, and dispatched 3 platoons of troops at a time, Zheng Chaoyuan as a squad leader carrying the explosives bag, intending to die with the enemy, because the enemy was afraid of Zheng Chaoyuan, they fled backwards, Zheng Chaoyuan took the opportunity to throw the explosives bag out, but because of the greater power, although Zheng Chaoyuan ran into a crater, he was still stunned by the explosives bag, and was simply carried down by the soldiers who arrived later.
In this battle, Zheng Chaoyuan's squad held its position for 16 hours and destroyed 267 enemies, Zheng Chaoyuan as a squad leader alone destroyed 122 enemies, and also created a glorious record of the 60th Army winning more with less. After returning to China, Zheng Chaoyuan was sent to study at the Nanjing Infantry School, and was promoted to the deputy commander of the 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion.
In fact, when Zheng Chaoyuan returned to China in 1953, he was only 18 years old, and when he saw this famous combat hero, he couldn't help but sigh: "You're still a child, you're amazing!" In 1965, Zheng Chaoyuan, as a representative of the whole army, was once again received by the national leaders, and then due to too many traumas left over from the war years, Zheng Chaoyuan took the initiative to apply for a transfer to work in the local area in 1964, and after returning to his hometown, Zheng Chaoyuan never mentioned his previous military exploits, and often reminded himself that his achievements belong to the past, and at any time he can not take the past honor as the capital of his current life and work. Under his influence, most of the children did not enjoy treatment.
