On January 11, Guangdong Communications Group announced that the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, a major national project and the core transportation hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, completed the pavement construction of all steel bridge decks. At 1 o'clock in the afternoon of the same day, with the completion of the asphalt paving on the right side of the east flood discharge area of the Lingdingyang Bridge of the Shenzhong Channel, the steel bridge deck pavement of the Shenzhong Channel was successfully completed, and at the same time, it marked the high-quality completion of the world's largest hot-mix epoxy asphalt steel bridge deck pavement project.
The Shenzhong Passage is a cross-sea cluster project integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater interconnection", with a total length of about 24 kilometers and a total area of 380,000 square meters of steel bridge deck pavement, which is currently the world's largest hot-mix epoxy asphalt steel bridge deck pavement project.
The hot-mix epoxy asphalt system is a typical steel bridge deck pavement scheme suitable for heavy traffic in China. Mao Nongping, chief engineer of the S15 standard project department of Poly Changchang in Shenzhong Channel, introduced that the hot-mix epoxy asphalt system has the comprehensive characteristics of high modulus, high toughness, wear resistance, fatigue resistance, etc., and shows excellent long-term road performance in the process of use, which can better ensure the durability of the pavement, the quality of service and the driving comfort.
At the same time, in order to better adapt to the changeable climatic conditions and high salt and high temperature environment of the sea off the Shenzhong Channel, and comprehensively improve the quality of steel bridge deck pavement, the construction team has independently developed three major systems for epoxy asphalt intelligent pavement, namely epoxy zinc-rich paint intelligent spraying system, epoxy resin intelligent coating system and epoxy resin automatic weighing and delivery system, which greatly improves the construction efficiency, control accuracy and engineering quality, and the daily pavement production capacity can reach 30,000 square meters. In 2023, it has set three world records for the construction area of hot-mix epoxy asphalt steel bridge deck in a single day.
At present, the construction of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor project has entered the sprint period of opening to traffic, and the construction of electromechanical, housing construction, traffic security and other ancillary projects has set off a construction boom again, and the installation and construction of bridge guardrails and expansion joints are advancing simultaneously, and the progress of various projects will continue to be maintained during the Spring Festival. It is reported that the construction of concrete asphalt pavement in the undersea tunnel will begin after the Spring Festival in 2024.
