At the event, the flag-raising team of Zheng Zhizhi Middle School held a flag-raising ceremony. Subsequently, a number of secondary school students presented flowers to the five veterans of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade of the Dongjiang Column. Before the screening, the Tseung Kwan O Choir sang "Singing the Motherland", and nearly 350 guests waved the national flag and the regional flag of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to offer blessings to the motherland.
Lin Zhen, former president of the Association of Old Guerrilla Fighters of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade of the Dongjiang Column, said in his speech that the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade was born in the flames of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and is the only anti-Japanese armed force in Hong Kong under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, mainly composed of Hong Kong citizens. The Hong Kong-Kowloon Independent Brigade and the historical sites and sites of the Hong Kong people's resistance to the Japanese army under its influence have become a precious historical memory of Hong Kong.
