Dalton has been manufacturing industrial heaters for nearly 100 years and is a leader in industrial heaters. Dalton's main products include patented Watt-Flex cartridge heaters and Diff-therm plate heaters, which are used in manufacturing industries around the world, such as aerospace, automotive, composites, plastics, and many other industries.
1.Watt-flex cartridge heater
Dalton's Watt-Flex cartridge heaters operate more efficiently, use less electricity and last up to 5 times longer than traditional cartridge heaters.
The Watt-Flex heater features a unique, patented split jacket design that expands when energized to maximize heat transfer through greater contact with the bore wall. Better heat transfer means less power is consumed to maintain the set point temperature, which reduces operating costs. Dalton's Watt-Flex cartridge heaters offer a 40% reduction in total heating costs compared to other heaters.
The watt-flex heater construction eliminates the ceramic cores commonly found in traditional cartridge heaters. Dalton has developed highly specialized manufacturing techniques that compact advanced magnesium oxide dielectrics near the maximum density around the heater coil, increasing dielectric strength and heat transfer away from the coil, thereby extending the life of the heater.
Advantages of Watt-Flex Cartridge Heaters:
Maximize heat transfer.
The Watt-Flex heater features a unique split jacket design that allows each half of the heater to expand outwards independently and bidirectionally, conclusively against the walls of the surrounding holes, providing superior heat transfer and uniform process heat.
High power density.
Watt-Flex heaters are made from high-quality materials to provide up to 50% guaranteed power density and operating temperatures up to 1832°F (1000°C).
Distributed power technology is used.
The watt-flex heater uses distributed power technology, which allows the flexibility to vary the power along the length of the heater to create individual heating zones.
Robust wire protection.
Watt-Flex heaters feature rugged wire protection to protect against abrasion, corrosion, and other hazards for added safety.
2.Diff-therm plate heaters
The Diff-Therm heater features high-purity magnesium oxide, nickel-chromium resistance wire, and stainless steel internal components. Special filling methods and equipment tightly compact magnesium oxide in and around the resistor helix, which is then forged to the maximum possible density under a pressure of 50 tons. Diff-therm castings are machined with a smooth, flat surface to ensure efficient and uniform heat transfer into the boiler plate assembly, resulting in stable evaporation of the pump fluid.
Advantages of Diff-Therm Heaters:
Better than original equipment heaters.
The swaging components of the diff-therm heater provide a higher dielectric density for better heat transfer and longer thermal life.
The all-in-one assembly simplifies installation.
The Diff-Therm heater features a one-piece assembly that makes it easier and faster to install.
