Text|High baby.

A few days ago, a friend in the group dug out several commemorative magazines when the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was opened to traffic in 2006, one of which was a "Thangka Special".

Knowing that I like thangka, she took a few photos of the ** in it. Among them is my favorite "Daikokuten".

At the request of my friends, today I will talk to you about this Venerable One.

There are two kinds of gods in Buddhism: the world's gods who are manifested by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and the world's gods who are immortals.

Mahakala is not only born in the world, but also a god-king, who can be highly respected as a guru, deity, or god.

Mahakala is the embodiment of the three fundamentals of Buddhism, in order to subdue the strong sentient beings and present the angry phase, the deity and their dependents ** in addition to supporting the Dharma, according to the origin of the image of two arms, four arms, six arms, etc., for the wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism commonly admired**.

"Mahakala" is Sanskrit, which means "big black sky".

The two-armed black sky is the embodiment of the wrath of King Fuxian and the Vajra Buddha.

The four-armed black sky is the embodiment of Shengle Vajra. He always takes the body, mouth, mind, merits, and career of all Buddhas, and is the ** god of the tantric practitioners who practice the Buddha Vajra.

The six-armed Daikokuten is the embodiment of a thousand hands and a thousand eyes, and an eleven-faced Guanyin.

Because the Bodhisattva pondered the cause of the difficulty of sentient beings, they were all haunted by demons, so he manifested the Mahakala demon deity, with great compassion in his heart and an incomparably powerful appearance on the outside.

Daikokuten is a very important ** god in Tibetan Buddhism, and he has 4 characteristics:

First, according to legend, he is good at flying and stealth, and can protect living beings in war, so he is also worshiped as the "god of war".

Second, he was able to protect food for sentient beings, so he was worshipped as the "kitchen god". According to Tang monk Yijing's "South China Sea Return", most of the homes of people in Southeast Asia and southern China will worship his statue in the kitchen and warehouse.

Third, according to legend, he can bestow good fortune on the poor, so he is also known as the "God of Fortune".

Fourth, according to legend, he often guarded the graves of the dead, so he was also named "the grave god".

Two-armed big black sky:The body is blue-black, with three round eyes, erect mane, and a crown of five skulls. Place your arms in front of your chest, hold a skull bowl in your left hand, and hold a lunar-shaped knife in your right hand. A short rod is placed horizontally between his arms, and he stands on his legs with a raging flame behind him.

Four-armed big black sky:The body is also blue-black, with five skulls and three eyes. A string of human heads hangs around his neck, and a tiger skin is around his waist.

He holds the object in both hands, the skull bowl in his left hand and the lunar-shaped knife in his right hand. The other two hands are placed at the sides, holding a trident in the left hand and a sword in the right hand.

Six-armed big black sky:The body is blue, with three eyes, a tiger skin, a large rosary of human skulls on the neck, and a crown of five skulls on the head. The top of the head is tied with snakes, the large flower snake on its neck hangs straight down, its wrists and ankle bones are also wrapped around snakes, and its back is full of flames.

All 6 of his hands hold objects:

The two hands in the middle are placed in front of their chests, holding the human bone bowl in their left hand and the moon-shaped knife in their right hand.

In the upper hand, he holds a human bone rosary in his right hand and a trident in his left hand. At the same time, these two hands also open an elephant skin to signify the expulsion of ignorance.

In the lower hand, a tambourine is held in the right hand to summon the banshee and subdue it. Holding a rope in the left hand, with a vajra at one end and a hook at the other, it means hooking all demons.

He is in a standing position, with his right leg bent and his left leg extended, and his feet resting on the chest and legs of the elephant-headed god.

The elephant-headed god is the god of wealth in the north, lying on his back with his head backwards, holding a bowl of human bones in his left hand and a radish and a bag of bread in his right hand. It is said that the Ganesha Tenjin was originally very cruel and was subdued by the Great Black Heaven.

Dahekuten was not only revered by Tibetan Buddhism, but also by feudal rulers in the interior.

During the Yuan Dynasty, Tibetan secrets began to be introduced into the interior, and Daheiten was first revered by Kublai Khan and became the protector of the Mongol army. Even when he sent his troops to fight, Kublai Khan often carried the "Great Black Heaven" with him at all times and prayed for his protection before the battle.

When the emperor of the Yuan Dynasty ascended the throne, the palace had to hold a special Mahakala puja, and the emperor of the Ming Dynasty was also empowered by the Sakya Mahakala ** god.

The White Pagoda Temple in Beijing can be said to be the earliest Mahagala dojo in Beijing. In the huge thangka of the Ming Dynasty's "Biography of the Eight Sipa Paintings" treasured by Sakya Monastery, it depicts that when the pagoda of Baita Temple was rebuilt at that time, Mahagala and his eight dependents, each of them danced with their hands, which was very cute.

Emperor Taiji of the Qing Dynasty also believed in the Great Black Heaven and regarded it as the "Manchu God of War".

According to historical records, during the battle between Huang Taiji and the Chahar Ministry, the Morgen Lama of the Ministry led a white camel and went to Houjin with treasures.

Among the treasures are the gold sutra, the jade seal of the country and the golden Buddha statue of Mahakala. Among them, the Mahakala Golden Buddha statue was made by the Great Yuan Emperor Phagsipa himself, and has been regarded as the treasure of Mongolia for generations.

At that time, the white camel brought by the Murgen Lama lay on the ground when it reached the outskirts of Shengjing, and then died.

Huang Taiji, who got the golden statue of Maha Kala, thought that this was a good omen for "unifying the world", so in the ninth year of Houjin Tiancong (1636), he built the Lotus Pure Land Shisheng Temple in Shengjing (now Shenyang) to worship Mahakala.

The statue of Mahakala in the temple is a golden Buddha standing statue, about one foot two inches high, holding a magic wand in both hands.

After that, Huang Taiji simulated the regulation of the mandala, and successively built "four towers and four temples" in the east, west, south and north of Shengjing, creating a near-perfect "realm of blooming lotus".

Now in front of Shisheng Temple in the center of Shenyang, there is a sculpture of a huge white camel. On its back is a statue of Mahakala, which truly records the historical scene of that year.

After the Qing Dynasty entered the customs and Dingding, Kangxi, Qianlong, Jiaqing, Daoguang and other emperors visited Shengjing in the east, and they all went to Shisheng Temple to worship Buddha. Emperor Qianlong also imitated this temple in Xiangshan in Beijing, and also gave the name "Shisheng Temple" to worship the god Mahakala **.

In 1946, the Mahakala Golden Buddha of Sishoji Temple was stolen, shocking the whole country.

In 2016, with the help of the devotees, a Mahakala Golden Buddha was recreated as it was and enshrined in Sisaeng Temple.

Shisheng Temple is the most famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Shenyang, a royal monastery of the Qing Dynasty and one of the most "sacred" Buddhist temples for Manchu believers in Shengjing.

After the Qing Dynasty entered the customs, the Mahakala Temple was built in Beijing and other places, and the most representative one is the "Maha Gala Temple" located in Nanchizi Street, Dongcheng, Beijing.

This Maha Kala temple was originally the private residence of Prince Rui Dolgon, and after he was cut down, Emperor Kangxi ordered it to be changed into a lama temple to worship Dahetian.

This is the "Daikokuten", and the story about the "Daikokuten".

Your ** is the greatest support.
