On August 28, 2018, my lover Kim Seung-dah passed away due to advanced prostate cancer. Hit by such a parting of life and death, my emotions have been in a state of grief. I often take the ** of the past two people and look through it. My lover and I have more than 4,000 photos in the past, and each one of them interprets our story. These stories played out in my mind like a movie, and I couldn't calm my mind with a lot of thoughts. Seeing these**, I feel very helpless. So much**How do I organize and save? I asked my eldest daughter Yang Wa to get two display boards on the wall and pasted my and Jin Chengda's **, which only accounted for a few of the total. I'm thinking about making a few albums, but there are so many albums that the albums can't hold so many**.

When Tang Yaogen, director of the Health Bureau, and his old comrades-in-arms came to visit me, they were very surprised to see my more than 4,000 **s**. They agreed that I had a lot of work experience and could write a memoir. The content must be exciting. After listening to their proposal, I had the idea of writing a book. It just so happened that Cheng Zhongnian, the director of Nanquan Hospital, sent me a memoir he wrote, and after reading his memoir, I strengthened my determination to write a book.

Director Tang Yaogen enthusiastically recommended my lover, and Bao Zhenggang, a former student, recorded many of my stories. Since I had no experience in writing books, I invited my goddaughter Guo Lingyu, who I recognized in Yunlin, to help me write a book. When I was looking through the materials, I found an article written by Hua Xia, the former director of the Ganlu Township Health Center in Wuxi County (later hired as a reporter for the "Chinese Talent Daily") about my work 40 years ago. I decided to use this article as a preface to my memoir. Xiao Guo and I started writing my memoirs.

Excerpt from the text. Marriage

At the beginning of 1952, on the eve of the establishment of Jiangsu Province, eight art troupes were reduced into a southern Jiangsu art troupe, and more than 100 of us lived on the revetment of Wuxi and were preparing to move to Nanjing. On the morning of March 7, Jin Chengda came to the art troupe to find Jiang Jing, and not long after, the head of the troupe sent someone to call me to his office. I hurriedly ran to the office, but I saw Jin Chengda, and the head of the regiment asked me with a smile: "Yang Yiwen, are you going with Jin Chengda, or are you going to Nanjing with the art troupe?" I glanced at Kim Seungda and replied at a loss: "Obey the organization's assignment." ”

The head of the regiment said funny: "Then you just want to go with Jin Chengda!" ”

Before I could answer, Jin Chengda replied in a loud voice: "Report to the head of the group, I want to be with Comrade Yang Yiwen." "At that time, it made me blush.

The head of the regiment just smiled, and then wrote a letter of introduction to Kim Seungda, asking me to pack my luggage and leave as soon as possible. I immediately went to the dormitory to pack my backpack, followed Jin Chengda to the door, got on a rickshaw and left the art troupe.

He led me to report to the Cultural and Educational Office of the Administrative Office of Southern Jiangsu, and Director Bai received us. He looked at my file and said, "You graduated from midwifery school, you are a professional, would you like to return to the health department?" ”

Obey the organization's assignment! I replied.

Are you registered to get married? Director Bai asked.

Kim Seungda sat up straight and replied, "No! ”

Director Bai turned around and wrote a letter of introduction to us: "Now that the new marriage law has been promulgated, you have to go and register. ”

On March 8, 1952, we took Director Bai's letter of introduction to the guest house of the Southern Jiangsu Administrative Office (now Wuai Primary School) to register our marriage.

On March 8, 1952, Kim Seung-dah and I registered our marriage.

That night, I was arranged in a room with seven or eight single beds, and Kim Seungda used the only five cents in his pocket to buy some sugar, peanuts, and melon seeds, and ate and chatted with four of his comrades-in-arms of the original art troupe in the next room, as a celebration of our wedding. I was alone in my room, confused, and asked myself, "Is this a marriage?" I was so aggrieved that I burst into tears. For many years, whenever we had our wedding anniversary, I complained that he was a "big **".

The next morning, they went to work together at the School of Social Education, and I took the letter of introduction to report to the Health Department of the Southern Jiangsu Branch, and the people from the Health Department asked, "Do you want to do technical work or administrative work?" ”

Again, I replied, "Obey the organization's assignment!" ”

He wrote directly on my original letter of introduction and forwarded it to the Wuxi Municipal Health Bureau. When I arrived at the Wuxi Municipal Health Bureau, the personnel department asked me, "Do you do administrative work or technical work?" ”

I replied firmly, "Obey the organization!" ”

The Wuxi Municipal Health Bureau wrote on the original letter of introduction and transferred it to the Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

Early career starts

In 1952, Wuxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital was first established, with Zhu Tao as the president, Qin Yi as the political instructor, Xue Lijin as the first chief, Liu Liang as the administrative administrator, and I as the deputy secretary of the Youth League branch. At that time, there were three midwives in the Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and more than 10 cooks. In order to better alleviate the pain of childbirth, we studied the Soviet Union's "Pavlov Law on Childbirth", and I was responsible for propaganda and education, giving classes to pregnant women to publicize childbirth, and introducing the advantages of childbirth, but in the social environment at that time, women were feudal. Once I met a pregnant woman surnamed Zhu, and I wanted to give her a prenatal checkup, but she directly rejected me, and even pushed me out of the door in anger, scolding me for not being ashamed, and I was very helpless about it.

After working in the Maternal and Child Health Hospital for half a year, I was transferred to the Maternal and Child Health Department of the Municipal Health Bureau as a clerk.

In 1952, Wuxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

Chen Sixin, Lu Liu, Liang and Yang Yiwen took a photo outside the gate of the Wuxi Municipal Health Bureau.

At that time, ** began to convene factories across the country to pay attention to women's labor protection, women's federations to pay attention to women's rights and interests, and the federation of trade unions also began to pay attention to labor protection of female workers**. At that time, there was also a song "Women Turn Over", the lyrics of which were sung like this: "Women in the old society were pressed to the bottom. The policy is to elevate the status of women.

Naturally, we, the Health Department, should also respond to the call to effectively protect the status of women, so we discussed that in addition to paying attention to women's rights and interests, we should also pay attention to women's health. They told me that there are a lot of women suffering from women's diseases, and if we can find a solution, we may be able to help women solve the pain of women's diseases at the source, so they want to do a pilot project and do a practical research. In order to learn more about women's diseases in women's diseases, the provincial investigation team proposed that going to the grassroots level is the most intuitive way to investigate. At that time, Wuxi was a light industrial city, and heavy industry was a steel factory. The textile industry in the light industry is the industry with the largest number of female workers, and Qingfeng Textile Factory was the largest textile factory at that time (the first public-private joint venture), so it was decided to do a pilot project in Qingfeng Textile Factory, which has the largest number of female workers.

After the discussion by the Municipal Health Bureau, the Women's Labor Department of the Federation of Trade Unions, and the Women's Federation, one cadre from each party was stationed in Qingfeng Textile Factory to complete the investigation.

After we entered the Qingfeng Textile Factory, we ate, lived and worked with the female workers, and after a period of understanding, we found that most of the female workers in the factory were suffering from trichomoniasis. According to some female workers, they have a lot of vaginal discharge, inflammation of the lower body, and unbearable pain, which seriously affects labor efficiency. The three of us analyzed the cause and did some examination, and finally came to the conclusion that because the baths of the female workers are in a group bathing mode, it is very easy to cause cross-infection of women's trichomoniasis. (The large bath is half the size of a swimming pool, and there are more than a dozen or twenty people bathing in it at a time, and many women are infected with trichomoniasis.) After finding the reason, our working group communicated with the factory leaders and put forward a request to transform the collective bath into a shower room, and the factory actively cooperated. Two months later, our team conducted an inspection and found that trichomoniasis among women workers had been significantly reduced and attendance had increased. During this period, we also proposed the construction of lactation rooms, rest rooms for pregnant women, and a fixed breastfeeding time, so that breastfeeding can be carried out every eight hours. At the same time, in order to take care of pregnant female workers, pregnant women who are six months pregnant can rest for 15 minutes a day in the maternity room, and we have established a pregnant women's canteen, where all pregnant female workers can eat.

The factory director, Tang Xinghai, is an open-minded person, very supportive of our work, responsive, and he quickly implemented the transformation work we proposed. Wu Xiuqin, a female worker commissioner, and Zhu Zhen, a factory doctor.

Shengye also went all out to assist us in our work, and Qingfeng Textile Factory took the lead in completing the reform.

After the successful pilot project of Qingfeng Textile Factory, it was quickly promoted to the whole city. Since its reputation has grown, people from all over the world have rushed to visit and learn about the situation.

The two years of working in Qingfeng Textile Factory have been a process of learning and improvement for me.
