In early autumn, at the request of a friend, I came to Zhangqiu Shijiulang Village, Jinan, a model village in Qilu, everywhere I went, all showed the simplicity and elegance of the ancient mountain village, and the characteristics of the traditional village, showing the strong historical and cultural heritage of this mountain village.
I have written a few articles about Shijiulang Village, mainly the history and culture of the traditional village of this village and the legend of Mingyang Mountain, and more importantly, I wrote about the self-made entrepreneurial spirit of Niu Gangqi, secretary of the general party branch of Shijiulang Village, and the story of turning a barren mountain into green mountains and green waters.
This time, I came to the village of Shijiro, and the folk hall of this village aroused my interest. Through the explanation of Meng Wenwen, a cadre of Shijiulang Village, I learned about the folk customs of this village before and after liberation.
The three of us detailed the old objects displayed in the Folk Museum. Each of these old objects reflects the rural life conditions at that time, and each one has a legendary story.
Underneath a sheet with the word "Hand Stone Rammed" written on it, a wooden box is placed. This box, in the form of a square, but incomplete, still lacks a plug underneath, slightly inside, two long wooden frames each have a groove, there should be a baffle here.
This hand stone rammer is probably the scientific name, and in my impression it should be called adobe mold. In the countryside, it is used to beat adobe. This is divided into two types: seven-inch and nine-inch.
When the blank is beaten, there is a square stone slab under the mold that is larger than the mold. It is about 20 cm thick. On top of the stone slab, a mold is arranged, and a person is filled with soil, which is in a pointed shape. The other person stepped on it, smoothed it with his feet, especially the soil on the four corners, and then combed his hair and tamped it. Comb hair is matched with adobe mold. After tamping, the person who combs his hair uses the stone on his comb to break the wooden stick. The person who loaded the soil lifted the wooden stick of the blank mold plug, lifted the baffle, and used the plug wooden stick to open the long frames on both sides, and lifted it up, and a smooth and neat square billet was born.
The man who combed his hair bent down and carefully lifted it from the middle with his hands, and then put his hands on the two ends to lift up the adobe and stack it.
Adobe was the main building material used to build houses in rural areas in the past. A house built of adobe is called an adobe house.
Of course, most of the houses in the countryside are now brick houses, and adobe houses have become a memory. As an adobe house, the adobe mold has become an exhibit in the folklore museum, and people often see things and think about things, and often linger in their minds.
