The hazy fog disperses The typical image of Su Ma Liqing under the spittle hazy glaze

A few years ago, I pointed out in a special article in this issue that after careful classification and observation of the collection and the specimens of the imperial kiln factory, it was found that the blue and white porcelain of the Yuan and Ming dynasties would be different due to the difference in glaze, fetal soil and kiln temperature, and the blue and white materials would be scattered, and they would roughly present four states.

The first is the very slight halo in the case of fine and dense bubbles in the glaze and the glaze surface is relatively flat and hard, which is not in a large area on the utensils, but can be seen in the transition of the blue and white material, which can be called the very fine halo under the glaze of the dense board.

The second is that the bubbles in the glaze are slightly enlarged, and the naked eye can see the bubbles in the glaze through the glass layer of the glaze like ice cream like snow foam or flour to form an ice-cream-like texture.

The third is that the bubbles in the glaze are extremely sparse and symmetrical when burned, and the spacing is very large, and the naked eye seems to be extremely haloed under the condition that the glaze is full of sweat beads, or called dispersion, in this case, it is very similar to the effect of Chinese ink painting, and the green material can not see the outline or edge of the artificial brush, and the patterns of animals and plants, mountains and stones, and people painted by the green material are natural, such as the inlaid ground and the glaze are integrated, like a ghostly workman, and the natural formation of nature rather than man, with an excellent sense of artistic beauty. It is estimated that there should have been potters at that time who were specifically pursuing this natural ink painting effect, which can be called the dispersion of ink under the glaze of Shulang Khan.

Fourth, the underglaze bubbles are uneven in size but tightly packed together like saliva or foam in the case of hazy fog dispersed, in this case, the blue and white material seems to be covered by the size of the bubble cloud in the glaze, hidden from time to time, hazy, can be called the hazy fog under the saliva.

Today, I will attach a high-definition illustration of the Yongle blue and white candlestick of the Shandong Museum Exhibition taken by me for your enjoyment.
