The "soaring" computing power has brought huge challenges to energy consumption, and energy conservation and carbon reduction in data centers have become a "must-answer question". A few days ago, the "Sustainable Development Summit Forum and Evergreen Award Ceremony" was held in Beijing. At the summit, the winners of the 7th Caijing Evergreen Award were officially announced, and Lenovo Group won the "Full-stack Intelligence Leading Enterprise of the Year" award for its outstanding performance and long-term practice in the field of green and sustainable development. With the completion of the full-stack intelligent layout of Lenovo's solution services, the green "cornerstone" has gradually played a greater role.
Today, based on the new IT technology architecture of "device-edge-cloud-network-intelligence", Lenovo has built AI-embedded intelligent terminals, AI-oriented infrastructure, and AI-native solution services, and initially formed a full-stack intelligent layout. In fact, as early as 30 years ago, Lenovo was committed to promoting green development through scientific and technological innovation, and explored a green practice path from carbon reduction in its core production and manufacturing links, collaborative carbon reduction in the first chain, and then to empower industry partners to develop low-carbon technology.
In terms of AI-embedded smart terminals, Lenovo helps to be green and sustainable by product design, packaging, and end-of-life cycle management. In terms of AI-native solutions and services, Lenovo has successively launched solutions and services such as green and low-carbon intelligent computing center infrastructure, ESG low-carbon parks, global first-chain ESG platforms, Legreen enterprise-level ESG solutions, and zero-carbon services, which not only promote its own energy conservation and consumption reduction, but also support Chinese enterprises to achieve green development.
It is particularly noteworthy that in terms of AI-oriented infrastructure, Lenovo has comprehensively laid out and led the R&D and application of key liquid cooling technologies, taking the key liquid cooling technologies that enable the development of green computing power as an example. At present, it can flexibly apply air-cooled hybrid, full liquid cooling, whole cabinet liquid cooling and single-phase immersion mainstream liquid cooling technology. Taking Lenovo's world-first Lenovo Poseidon warm water full water cooling technology as an example, it can realize the full water cooling fanless design of servers, support multiple types of GPUs and CPUs, heat dissipation efficiency up to 98%, and support the minimum PUE of data centers to be reduced to 11 or less, which greatly reduces the energy consumption level of the data center and strongly outputs "green productivity".
It is reported that in the field of green computing power, Lenovo Group's warm water cooling technology has been recognized by the industry, and has been selected into the "List of Advanced and Applicable Technology Products of National Green Data Centers" compiled by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for many years, and has been widely used in the construction of more and more green data centers.
It can be said that Lenovo has demonstrated strong innovation capabilities and high growth potential in the field of green computing power, providing important guiding value for industrial development and the selection of upstream and downstream user solutions and services. In the future, Lenovo will continue to deepen technological innovation, pay more attention to sustainable development, actively respond to the national "dual carbon strategy" policy, jointly promote sustainable development, and create a better future for mankind.
