Enjoy the New Year

Pagani's first product, the Zonda C12, was unveiled at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show after seven years of development. It has been praised for its aggressive styling, amazing performance, and incredible technical sophistication. Zonda is the materialized embodiment of Mr. Pagani's relentless quest to create "una macchina con anima", a car with a soul.

The Pagani Zonda has a fantastic combination of distinctive body lines, superior performance and extraordinary build quality, which has given Zonda a fabulous place among the world's most discerning supercar collectors and enthusiasts. From its inception, Pagani's products have consistently demonstrated bold design, outstanding engineering, and attention to detail, representing the finest craftsmanship in the automotive industry today.

Zonda's production cycle spanned more than 20 years, and in 2007, Pagani launched their first track-focused model, the Zonda R. As the most direct manifestation of the company's technical capabilities, the Zonda R is a true masterpiece of Pagani. Unaffected by racing and regulations, Zonda R offers a top-of-the-line driving experience.

The construction of the Zonda R features an upgraded version of the Zonda F chassis with a carbon-titanium monocoque, a proprietary material developed by Pagani in which titanium and carbon fibers are bonded together to take advantage of the engineering properties of both materials. The suspension, powertrain, chassis structure and body were all developed specifically for this model. According to reports, Zonda R used only 10% of the existing parts in the brand's catalog. So, the Zonda R is almost more of a custom creation than a road bike modified for the track.

Even though it's built to embody the ultimate performance, the Zonda R's bodywork, interior, and engine compartment are all beautiful. Four projection beam lamps shine outward from the front, flanked by diffusers and spoilers. From the rear, the adjustable rear wing and quad exhaust pipes are pretty much the best combination. Zonda R represents the combination of engineering excellence and artistic design.

The Zonda R is powered by a naturally aspirated 6 derived from the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTRDriven by a 0-liter V-12 engine with an output of 780 horsepower. This engine is paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox with a multi-plate racing clutch and a lightweight magnesium casing. The engine gets fresh air through a roof-mounted F1-style carbon fibre intake channel, and the exhaust task is handled by a set of ceramic-coated Inconel 625 exhaust pipes, which are also F1-inspired. With an excellent power-to-weight ratio and lightning-fast shifting speed, the Zonda R can be used at 2It accelerates to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 370 km/h.

The Zonda R "Revolución Specification" in the article is the fifth of 10 "R" models produced by Pagani between 2009 and 2011. It was upgraded to the Revolución specification in December 2014. The Revolución upgrade includes engine and transmission modifications, adding 30 horsepower to the stock configuration, as well as a new set of HLINS shocks and lightweight magnesium alloy wheels, which also mimic the original's finishes and patterns. The addition of a smaller auxiliary rear wing under the standard wing increases downforce.

There is no doubt that this supercar, which embodies the spirit of Pagani, will be the center of attention wherever it appears. Of course, it is also expensive, and its auction in 2023 will be as high as 5.34 million US dollars (about 38.4 million yuan).
