The Huayra R EVO is an evolution of the Huayra R, a supercar built for the track. Its biggest feature is the open roof design, inspired by Indy and Le Mans, allowing the driver to experience a more pure and passionate driving pleasure.
At the same time, its rear has also been lengthened by 190 mm, creating a long-tail shape that increases the stability and aerodynamics of the body. Since Pagani's founder, Horacio, has already used the name Codalunga (meaning long tail) for another highly prized model, the Huayra R Evo can only be called an evolution of the Huayra R, but that doesn't detract from its uniqueness and excellence.
The Huayra R EVO is powered by a 6The 0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine weighs only 198kg but produces 888 hp and 770 Nm of torque, with peak power at 8,250 rpm and maximum torque between 5,800 and 8,200 rpm and a top speed of 9,200 rpm. Compared to the Huayra R, the engine of the Huayra R Evo features a new intake horn and camshaft, an increased rev limit of 200 rpm, and a smoother torque curve. The engine is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox, supplied exclusively by HWA, which ensures swift and precise gear changes.
The Huayra R EVO is not only powerful, but also lightweight and rigid. Its bodywork is made of Grade A carbon fiber developed by Pagani for Utopia, which is 38% stiffer than regular carbon fiber without increasing its weight. This means that the carbon fibre material of the Huayra R EVO has reached the highest standards of supercars, even surpassing the average steel. And that's not all the advantages of the Huayra R Evo.
The body length of the Huayra R Evo is almost 300 mm longer than that of the Huayra R, with 101 mm in the front lip and 190 mm in the rear rear, which greatly improves the aerodynamics of the Huayra R Evo. According to Pagani, the Huayra R EVO has 45% more downforce and 21% more aerodynamic efficiency than the Huayra R, while no increase in air resistance. At speeds of up to 320 km/h, the Huayra R EVO generates more downforce than the car can handle, which means it is capable of extremely high handling and stability on the track.
It is worth mentioning that the detachable roof of the Huayra R EVO does not diminish its aerodynamics, but instead increases downforce by 5%. Of course, to keep the driver safe, the Huayra R EVO is equipped with a detachable roller protector, as well as a professional racing helmet.
In response to the power and aerodynamics of the Huayra R Evo, Pagani has also upgraded its suspension and braking systems. The Huayra R EVO is equipped with a new He**e Damper, similar to Koenigsegg's Triplex system, which effectively counteracts the vertical movement of the body and improves the vehicle's balance.
The braking system uses Brembo's CCM-R carbon-ceramic discs and pads, which have a 14% larger braking area than the Huayra R, providing more powerful and stable braking power. In terms of tyres, the Huayra R Evo uses Pirelli's P Zero tires with 280 680 R19 at the front and 345 725 R20 at the rear, and the tire tread uses a new rubber developed specifically for the Huayra R Evo, providing better grip and durability. The tires are available in both dry and wet versions, depending on the conditions of the track.
While the Huayra R EVO is a racetrack-built supercar, Pagani also takes into account the driver's comfort and individual needs, so the Huayra R EVO is available in both left- and right-hand drive versions, allowing customers from different countries to enjoy the ride. The interior of the Huayra R EVO also maintains Pagani's high-quality and high-tech style, with Alcantara and carbon fibre materials, as well as a multi-functional LCD instrument cluster and central control screen, allowing the driver to keep track of the vehicle's data and parameters at all times.
The limited quantity and price of the Pagani Huayra R Evo have not yet been announced, but it is certain that it will be an extremely rare and expensive model that only a few collectors and racing enthusiasts will be able to own.
