Compared to those who read hundreds of books a year, they are ashamed. Over the years, I have mainly read classics of Chinese culture, such as the first four histories, hundreds of schools, and some biographies, but there are less than 100 books, but the department is a classic, and these old books often dare not give up, and I can't bear to be ashamed!
This year, I will temporarily have a flowing water banquet before parting. Because you have to read some new books, you need to break off some of the old books. Some will be temporarily separated after this year, and some such as "Zizhi Tongjian" may still have to be separated after many years. The reason why I want to read this book again is because Tsang has been of great benefit to me, and I would love to review it again. If it weren't for the advice from Zeng's family letters, I wouldn't have been able to cultivate my reading habits in the past five years; If it weren't for Tsang's encouragement, I probably wouldn't be in the current state of hard work! But the books about the Zeng family made by later generations, or the family letters that I have read many times, will be temporarily said goodbye after a while!
I secretly respect Zeng's teacher! There are some reasons, and these reasons may also be a reference for some people:
We ordinary people, confused by the rumors, don't know what to do, don't know where to go, struggle from youth to middle age, and don't know if it will be old age! Maybe everyone is wise, but I really struggled into middle age. Parents and teachers are difficult to teach a rebellious child, and friends do not fall into the eyes of pride, all kinds of truths always make people feel confused and doubtful, credible and infeasible, more often believe that their own power can turn things around, and now Fang Jue is useless!
We ordinary people have read many biographies and feel that they are far away from ourselves. Zeng Guofan, I also read Tang Haoming's book more than ten years ago, and I occasionally got some reading materials from the Internet in my spare time, I can't say that I don't know, except for him, there are few celebrities I have read? But how many of them really know, and can really ask for advice with an open mind and sincerity? Even if there were, it was extremely short and fast, and the momentary emotion and passion were quickly replaced by another celebrity, or abducted by a new mentor, or forgotten by the trivial matters of reality!
Feng Lun talked about "learning advanced, sugar daddy, and taking the right path" in his early years, and he felt that this was very charming and reasonable more than ten years ago, since ancient times, there are teachers in the art of war, craftsmen have teachers, Lei Feng has good deeds, and Qin Hui has Qin Hui for bad deeds, and it is really impossible to have a guide and no master. But I really don't have Feng's insight and courage, there are many advanced people but they don't know which one to learn, and they don't know who to go to on the streets with big money, and they don't know whether this road is good or evil, anyway, it is getting farther and farther away from the advanced, and the road seems to be getting more and more directionless.
The living are not stained with light, but what about the dead? It makes sense that the people in the book are teachers and friends, right? We have seen a lot, but because we don't have enough knowledge, we often get confused.
Everyone has a background, and it is difficult to make a fortune by studying! We are superstitious left and right, not only do illiterate people love superstition, but people who are literate but too little knowledgeable are also prone to superstition! Superstitious people often say that "sincerity is spirituality"! The Bodhisattva said, "It's better to ask for me than to beg you", yes, people often can't be honest with themselves, and how can they know what to ask if they don't know themselves? How do you know which bodhisattva to look for?
As the old saying goes, "those who know themselves know", I just don't know. So I came to see the book, the book is the book, I am me, and the book is not in harmony with me. When we are young, we always want to understand the world outside of our bodies, but we only know it, and we can't really understand it.
Because I don't know myself, I know all the things outside the body of the world, ancient and modern, and just like Ma Tan, talking about the Tao at the head, looking at others like watching the fire at night, seeing the situation like mud in the snow, but when it comes to myself, it is dark under the lamp, so what knowledge is just learned from others, and it has nothing to do with myself! Just like Zhuge Ke, what is there in the world that he doesn't know? Who is smarter than him? But when it comes to his own head, he is still as wise as a child!
I'm sick after all! Luckily, no one cut off their heads, but it's fast! Fortunately, I knew I was sick. After a long illness, the doctor is half a doctor, and you always need to find another half doctor, and you need to seek medical treatment urgently, but how can you find it?
So I went to pick up in the stacks of books, why did I look for them in the books?
Because one of his diseases is that he wastes too much time, and nothing is accomplished, and among all things, reading is the most regrettable. I spent a lot of time anxious and pondering, but I didn't find the answer, found it and didn't believe it, but wasted my time in hesitation and confusion.
People's heart disease is not one place, the current confusion and confusion are always accumulated by a variety of diseases! I often lament that I haven't read for more than ten years, and I haven't read the classics I longed for when I was young for many years. If the ability does not work, it will become a heart disease over time, and it can be of great benefit but not good, which in turn leads to the complication of its disease.
Let's solve this disease first! First of all, put some effort into reading this book and reading the classics. I can persevere.
In four or five years, I felt that it was completely different from reading books when I was younger. If you can't get some benefits and joy, it is difficult to persevere, and only by chewing carefully can you get some joy and benefits.
Because heart disease always has to be treated by yourself, it is difficult to ask others, even doctors. Heart matters, heart demons, heart diseases, this kind of thing must be solved by yourself, otherwise there will be no "truth knows a hundred thousands, life is still difficult" words, the outside truth, his words, after all, are other people's, you can't see it, you can't choose and follow.
Because I'm afraid to find someone to ask, which one of the people around you knows you and knows you? Even if they know you, how can they have the time and energy to deal with your? Not to mention strangers! Even if they know you, who will be willing to drug you? Even if you are willing, do you have the insight and stomach to listen and accept?
In the pile of books, I thought it was a waste of time to think about the people and things of the ancient times, but I never thought that I would secretly gain some insight day by day.
I will have a better understanding of my own disease, and I will gradually wake up! We ordinary people often don't know where the problem is, and the reason why we don't know the problem is mostly because of our lack of knowledge.
It is always easier to know people than ordinary people, we often talk about the strengths and weaknesses of others, and we feel that we are quite smart! At this moment, we feel that we are quite self-aware of ourselves, and we feel that although we are not geniuses, we are definitely the best. If so, then why do we always fail? The conceited and agitated words point to the country, and gradually there is no poetry in the distance, and finally the words in the country have become bullshit!
Self-knowledge is the hardest thing in the world! Knowing people, knowing faces, not knowing hearts! In this world, only wise people can achieve something, those who know themselves are clear, those who know people are wise, our so-called knowing people in the past is just to see some skin, see some of the present, to determine life and death in a moment, and to judge the overall situation with a point! Our so-called self-knowledge is nothing more than intentional self-exaltation and unintentional self-suppression! I don't have a deep understanding of others or myself!
Self-knowledge, knowing people, this is how many big people in ancient and modern times are difficult to do, how dare we ordinary people say that it is easy to have? Just like Yang Ming, he is only struggling to be self-aware, and it is also difficult to know people (his son)! Just like Zeng Guofan, he also painfully analyzes his life in self-knowledge, and it is even more painful in knowing people (his son-in-law)!
Knowing this, if it weren't for the long-lasting heartache and torture of his illness, it would be difficult to know his face!
It wasn't until I met Zeng's and read the "Zeng Guo Domain's Family Book" that I, a middle-aged man, secretly read it with great sincerity, and I felt that what he said about "dragon and tiger, difficult to permanent, lazy, beasts, and famine" was exactly what I was talking about.
It's just that his illness was treated early and for a long time, while my illness was too late and I haven't been treated yet. We may have different time and space, different talents, different aspirations, and different paths, but we have similar symptoms and similar temperaments, and his strong man's self-embarrassment when he was young is a good testimony of the effectiveness of healing.
When choosing a doctor and choosing a teacher, you must always meet the right solution and the right one! Su Dongpo is highly sexually playful and can't learn, Zhang Jiangling is not good at learning, Yang Mingzhi can't learn big demons, Zuo Jigao is conceited and inferior and doesn't dare to learn, only this Zeng seems to be more suitable!
Hundreds of family letters, one by one, read them one by one. "The Biography of Zeng Guofan" and other books are started one by one and read them one by one. The family letter series has been read twice, and the biography has been read once. This process lasted about three years, and during this time, there were some benefits:
It is now the sixth year that I have adhered to the reading habit; During the period, I finished reading the "General Guide to Governance"; The persistence of reading and reading these books have also improved my knowledge and become more accessible; The work is more long-term and thorough, that is, there are setbacks but more courageous and optimistic; Since ** insisted again, the article and ** in parallel, although it is still not a big profit, but can go from not being used to appearing on the camera to now gradually getting better, can go from suffering to have nothing to write about to now dare to write about everything, and can go from easy to break off now difficult to break, this may also be inspired by Zeng Shi!
I also started the 16 complete works of "Zeng Guofan's Anthology" (compiled by Li Hongzhang and others), and read it slowly in the future. In fact, Zengshi's knowledge and changes are only one-tenth in his biography and family letters, and his memoirs, articles, and books may have more connotation.
With Zeng as a teacher, I don't dare to think about any big things, I just want to do a few things on conservation, and persist in a few things for a long time, although there is nothing to describe in half a life, maybe the rest of my life can still be chased!
